Does it have any age statement on it? Sometimes I don’t understand Bourbon pricing. I can buy Bulleit 10 year old for less than Bulleit Bonded here in Ohio. I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve tried from Bulleit so I need to get me some of this.

ssandy_561 it does not have an age statement. According to the site, it's aged 7 years. I paid $52.00 for it in MD & it's worth every penny. I've had most iterations of Bulleit & this is, hands-down, the best. A big difference is that it's 100% their own distillate, unlike the rest of their whiskey. It's amazing & I can highly recommend it.

How were they? Did you have a favorite?

Sweaty Paul, they were all very good. There is a distinct difference between Texas whiskey and others. Texas whiskey reflects the humid, hot and earthy environment. It was a tough decision but I brought home the Lineage and Texas Rye.

That is beautiful, just beautiful. If the proof is up there for you, let it sit for some time in the glass before you start sipping. A trick that I have learned is to take a sip of water, leave enough in your mouth to feel like it is coated, then take a sip of your whiskey. The heat is diminished without ruining the purity of it being barrel proof by adding water.

It's hot, but, it is delicious. It really helps if you add a small splash of of distilled water too. Mellows it and allows the whiskey to bloom.
Or, can do as Whiskeyman53 recommends. The water I use is distilled and at room temperature too. I think it enhances the flavor.

Also, adding ice will dilute the whiskey, however, it will also chill it. Making the whiskey cold also mutes some flavors of the bourbon.
Just my two pennies.
Most important, drink it the way you like it. I do love Full Proof.

I have a few barrel proof bottles but I always add one chip of ice to each pour. Just how I like it but probably not how the purists would drink it. And I swill it once or twice before sipping. Usually with a good cigar or a nice black coffee

Isn't swilling for wine and swirling for whiskey? J/K

There's no wrong way to drink whiskey...you like what you like. Anything under 120 proof I'll drink straight...but anything over that I may add a chip of ice or a splash. I use to use those large ice balls, but I've found that even they melt too fast...

Agree Skins however I sometimes cringe when I see my buddy take a nice pour of Crown Black and then submerge it in Coke..
