With the exception of the New Riff High Note & Yellowstone 7 year,(I bought those),these are what survived our tailgate today. The Rebel SiB & Yellowstone are Va ABC store picks.

            My favorite island also.

It's an Old Fashioned kinda night. My clear cube game is getting strong
Well...not really, I bought one of those clear cube cooler thingies. It works pretty good.

Which one did you buy? I don’t remember if you put it out here or not in the past? I just use the silicon molds, but that looks like an almost perfectly clear cube! Outstanding!

I went to a nice restaurant last night, decent bar….until they served me an Old Fashion with a cup full of ice and an orange slice hanging off the rim 😂

Whiskey Wednesday this week took us to Heaven Hill. They produce a great product. I purchased the bottled in bond which is very good. Click image for larger version

Nice lineup. How did you like the Old Fitz 7 year? They're hard to come by around here, (Baltimore metro area), but I managed to snag a couple bottles a few months ago at MSRP. I like it, a lot. The HH BiB is solid too, and readily available. It just chafes a little bit, because I remember how good, (and cheap), the 6 year was.

Skinsfan1311, the grain to glass collection was very good . The Old Fitz was excellent but highly allocated and a little over my budget for the day.

Huge fan of Heaven Hill. Love their bottled in bond. Old Fitz is really delicious too.

If you have a chance to purchase anything from this bottler do it, they are fantastic. This is a store that I had the privilege of taking part in.

It can only get better now!

This weeks Whiskey Wednesday took us to England to sample some Compass Box Scotch . All were exceptional. I brought home their peated whisky, very nice if you like the smoky peat in your whisky.

Thanks for the tip. I'm going to look for this. I ❤️heavily peated whiskys.

fzxdoc same. I love heavily peated whiskey, mainly Islay single malts...Ardbeg, Lagavulin, Laphroaig & Port Askaig are my favorites. Mrs. Skinsfan gifted me a bottle of Octomore Edition 14.2. It's probably one of the most heavily peated whiskeys on the planet. I rarely drink it but, when I do, it's the last pour of the night because it wreaks so much havoc on my taste buds.

Knob Creek has changed their single barrel store select program . The selections are now bottled at cask strength eliminating the standard 120proof. This store pick is bottled at 119.3 proof. Some bottles may be above 120 proof while others are below. This is my first taste of a Knob Creek single barrel bottled under the new guidelines and it is exceptional. Great work as usual Knob Creek.

Except for the Maple flavored stuff, you cannot go wrong with KC...

Caps opening night is a great excuse to have a mid-week drink

Great Jack there. For such a high proof whiskey it’s remarkable how it drinks without the sharp edges.
