Following up on Skinsfan1311 - vacation for two weeks…so let’s start off with a bang!!! Been waiting to crack these suckers for a while! Side by side just to compare, and first sips….really liked the CYPB and Single Barrel, 107 was great as well. Can’t wait to see how these open up now that they’ve been cracked.

Enjoy! That is a great stable of Prize Hoss. I have a custom barrel pick of the Antique 107 "Sazerac". My BIL won a barrel pick. Some of the best I have enjoyed!Last edited by Alan Brice; December 20, 2024, 09:14 AM.

Im boring I guess. I just like a good draw of Evan Williams on a piece of ice or two. I have a bottle left of Basil Hayden and Woodford Reserve but prefer the Evan Williams. I think some of the whisky's that have been casked too long does mellow them out but I like it with a bit of body. I have another bottle of Balvenie 14 year Caribbean cask. Been sitting there about five years probably should open it soon though.

Nothing wrong with Evan Williams!!

Evan Williams is fantastic. Their 1783, bib and single barrel are highly underrated. Black label is standard around the grill or fire pit.

IF you insist ! But it's NOT mine:Kentucky Deluxe is technically a “blended whiskey” meaning that it isn’t one of those hifalutin’ “single barrel” products. In fact, right on the back of the label it proudly states that the contents are only actually 20% whiskey and 80% neutral grain spirits.
That whiskey is made from… well, we just don’t know. Corn? Rye? Malted barley? It’s a complete mystery. There’s no details about what the grain bill consists of, and their other products are similarly mysterious so there’s no hints as to the contents.

Picked up this bottle sometime at the end of October. First time trying it tonight. Was hoping to get a bottle Eagle Rare that morning but was 3 people too late. Had to settle for a bottle of 1792 Single Barrel.
The nose has hints of apple peel and a heavy dose of oak. It starts off a bit “hot” for only being 98.6 proof. I have at least 5 bottles of bourbon over 100 proof that are not as “hot” as this. The apple continues to the taste along with some caramel and spice. There is no age statement on the bottle but it seems young. There is not the smoothness that some of my 6 to 7 year bourbons have.

I've found that every iteration if 1792 that I've tried drinks hot. I have a bottle of full proof that absolutely needs to tamed with ice or a generous splash...

I really like what 1792 puts out. Every single bottle I’ve picked up has been good and they are all at MSRP, which is even better. I think the only bottle I haven’t had is their 12yr. But otherwise, the SiB, BiB, FP, SW, and regular have all been great to sip on!

@barefly back in 2017 we stopped by Barton distillery just to buy bottles. The staff was really nice and gave us a few pours just for stopping in. I love the Very Old Barton 100 & 90. It's fantastic, cheap whiskey.

Welcome to my Christmas tradition. As families grow and significant others are welcomed, it was decided several years ago that Christmas Eve would become the night for my wife’s family to gather, enjoy dinner and for gift opening. Christmas Day is spent with my family albeit on a much more subdued level. Now time for the tradition, after several exhausting days, my wife will give in to the holiday exhaustion and take a nap. This is when I put on a holiday YouTube channel complete with Christmas music and a crackling fireplace scene, pour a very special whiskey and spend some time relaxing.
