Not sure what this frozen concoction is called. But damn it’s good. Got it at the Tangaroa Terrace at the Disneyland Hotel.

You are at Disneyland? I'd need several of those to handle that! I grew up not far from there, watched he fireworks every night. Went there every year for the first eleven years of my life. Cured me of amusement parks for life. Better you than me, amigo, drink up!

Also grew up in the OC, although not that close (down in what is now known as Lake Forest, but was called El Toro back in the day). But went to Disneyland often enough, that's for sure. Last time I was there was on 8/8/88, just my ex wife, my favorite sister, and her late husband and my musical soulmate Bob. We had a great time, despite it being hugely crowded. But we kept seeing this same guy who had "8/8/88" on his t-shirt... again and again and again.

I had mai tais just once in my life, back in 2006 when the family was on Oahu for my niece's wedding. Went to the Royal Hawaiian on Waikiki and had mai tais at the Mai Tai bar. Two of those babies hit very hard! Figured it could never be better than that, so haven't had one since. For the record, on another day during that visit we also watched a sunset on Sunset Beach... two life-changing experiences.

Sierra Nevada Festbier, one of their current seasonal offerings. Absolutely spectacular. It's one of those "holy grail" beers: Malty, yet dry. Anyone who has ever brewed knows how tough that is to pull off... this beer is amazing with robust, spicy foods. Have had one with dinner the past three evenings: Pizza, chili, and tonight's pigsket tacos with spicy red beans (see SUWYC). The perfect beer for that kind of food.

At least in the States, O-fest beers are commonly released about this time. Even in Germany they start becoming available in early September, as I understand it.
Traditionally (don't know if this is still the case) they're brewed in early spring, and some is released not long after as Märzen, the rest in the fall as O-fest. I love the Märzens too!

In a cocktail shaker, muddle 6 fresh blueberries and six mint leaves in 1 oz of sweetened lime juice.
Add 2 oz of white rum to the shaker.
Stir and pour contents of shaker into a chilled glass.
Top with 2 oz of sweetened, carbonated lemon-lime drink like 7-Up.
Garnish with lime wedge, fresh blueberries and fresh mint leaves.

I of course love smoked meats of all kinds, but also like quick cooks like chicken portions, pork tenderloins, steak and fish. Really into cooking of all kinds.
My outdoor kitchen has a Lone Star Grillz Adjustable and it is wonderful. There also is a Pit Boss 5 Burner Ultimate Griddle and a Pit Boss Copperhead pellet grill.
There is an outdoor fire pit that has grilling capability and limited Santa Maria-style grill raising and lowering.
