Evan Williams Single Barrel. My nephew highly recommended it. I guess I got a barrel different than his, I'm not crazy about it. Too nutty for me.

Moving on, trying a dry Manhattan, sans cherries. Bulleit rye, extra dry vermouth, and two generous dashes of bitters.

I adding sweet vermouth to make it a perfect Manhattan. Real good with the Bulleit rye.

That'll smooth out a long week!

This stuff has my heart right now, I'll say it again it's fantastic.

What I taste- sweet, creme brulee, a caramelized lightly smokey sugar, Werther's.

Do you like that HH? I bought a bottle of 2009 EWSB and wasn't crazy about it.

Huskee I really do. There are others I have to try yet. I really enjoy the ice in it after I work.

Get well brother. Mine was mostly ice. Wasn't much more than a wee bit. I hope you feel better my friend.

This is a Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout that I made. It's flavor profile is chocolate and roast with hints of Vanilla from the the White Oak barrel, and some residual flavor from the Bourbon. It's a little boozy, yet smooth... And keeps getting better with age. It sat in the barrel for about 6 months. This one weigh's in at about 10% ABV.

Ye old standby. Perhaps the most all-around perfect bourbon in the world, considering the very affordable price tag.

I'm with you Huskee. When I drink Bourbon....it's most likely Buffalo Trace.

Hard to go wrong with most anything from Weller.

Moving on.... if you've never had the privilege, E. H. Taylor is another excellent offering from Buffalo Trace (the makers of Blanton's, Weller, Elmer T. Lee, Eagle Rare, etc). I am officially a Buffalo Trace fanboy and proud of it.

                  Nice scenery!

Awhile back I watched a youtube video of a master sommelier talking whiskey. He had just about every brand sitting on the wall, and he pulls down a Henry McKenna and said it's the most underpriced whiskey on the market. So I tried it and it's become my go-to, I like it better than Blantons. It's your classic, rustic whiskey and once the proper water-to-alcohol ratio kicks in it's hard to stop.

Discovered Slane recently and it's packed with flavor. Both of these can be had for $25 if you wait for a Bevmo coupon.

Thanks for sharing. I'm always after just such a whiskey, great flavor and underpriced! Ifirmly believe a person doesn't have to pay high prices for great whiskey.

McKenna wouldn't be my choice for neat, it's not smooth like a Blantons. I'ts got a kick to it, but I'm a rocks guy so it suits me well.

Just like with wine... Anybody can go pick a "good" expensive bottle, but it's that much sweeter when you hit on a "good" bottle at a great price. Never had the Slane, but I'm a fan of McKenna.
