Wife and I went out for dinner. She had a seltzer, I had an Old Fashioned. Then a dry hopped apple cider, which was really good, to go with the beef birria tacos

But this Old Fashioned - they do an excellent job making this for being a brewery! And the view isn’t too bad as well!

      Sure do love that kettle.

Dirty Vodka martini for Mrs. Barelfly and an Old Fashioned for me, using my bottle of Mellow Corn Bourbon

SheilaAnn - I mistyped - it’s Mellow Corn - but, it’s straight corn whiskey, bottled in bond. $20! Heaven Hill is a great distillery as well.

and that Alma Tepec - that looks really interesting for cocktails and is sold in NM! I’m going to have to find that!

Channeling my midwestern influence. I prefer barelfly ’s single ice cube but our new refrigerator is still in the first stage of craft ice making.

barelfly It makes 2” round cubes, clear or regular. We just got it Saturday so it’s ramping up to produce ice.

Nice post-mowing beer. Not sure how much I woulda got done if I started on these before mowing 🍻 💤

So, next time start with the beer. Then it’ll be a post-beer nap. 😉

OK, 7 days a week, and 52 weeks a year. Haha

My wife has become an accomplished mixologist, helped along by some drink books I purchased for her.

This is a Port Martini, made with Hendricks Gin, Graham’s White Port and garnished with a lemon twist and bleu cheese stuffed olives. Shaken, not stirred.

That’s a good bottle to have for everything you mentioned in the bourbon thread - neat, on the rocks, cocktails. And the best thing, it’s always available when you want a bottle.

Their 46 bottle is really good as well!

          Meanwhile in Norway..

Mojito on the patio. Ten degrees cooler in the shade but no less humid.

Moving to the Old Fashioned night cap while watching the Gold Cup soccer matches.

barelfly there are the round, ‘craft’ ice balls of which I spoke earlier. I’m loving this new LG fridge.

Heck yeah! That is so cool! if they last longer than normal cubes, those Old Fashioneds will be great if they last that long!

            Cheers!
