              2 great brews.

Happy fRYEday everyone. New Riff Single Barrel - Barrel proof Rye. My wife and I both love this neat, however, it’s also very good in a perfect Manhattan. Finally got my hands on brandied cherries.

Still one of my favorite drinks. I guess my palate from 1988 has not changed.

Brings back fond memories but with a Coke.

Perfect Crown Royal Manhattan with a few cherries. I usually save this for an after ski or winter activity sitting fireside but what the heck.

Is this a mold you purchased or homemade? I watched a video today on homemade ice cubes and the easy method for clear was to use an insulated mug, like a Yeti or RTIC tumbler. Should have ice tomorrow and will post.

And nice bottle back there too!

Mold I purchased, I bought two different today. From what I’ve read “so far” distilled water is what is preferred, time will tell.

Truly just having fun taking photos.

I took this photo for my friend who holds a bourbon auction here. He just came back from Kentucky with 38,000 worth of bourbons from the Buffalo trace family of distillers. Sets of Pappies, stagg, wellers, EH Taylors’.. etc.. I told him I would get him some photo’s to use.

                Swedish gold!

Just finished a Scottish ale. This is our houses version of a Bloody Mary. However, I’m trying to enjoy one last weekend in the back kitchen before we take it apart. Some stuff has already moved in. So generally it would be actual limes, and my Red Boat fish sauce. Not the lime juice, that is something my wife enjoys, too sweet for me.

That certainly is a fantastic pour! Enjoy

Not drinking anything at the moment. Dealing with a bit of a sinus/head cold, but trying out a method for clear ice I saw on YT. First check and this is clear ice! Now, just need to let it thaw a tad so I can get it out of the yeti tumbler and then make into shapes that will fit into rocks glasses.

the photo is angled just a tad to show frost on the inside of the mug. The ice is clear from top to bottom. I know Attjack has tried clear ice a few ways and Richard Chrz has his ice photo above. See how this turns out when I make a cocktail.

I use an old six can cooler w/removable top. Fill mostly with filtered water n freeze 30 hours. still a bit liquid on the bottom when I dump the ice out. Break semi frozen away n use a bread knife to cube whatever size you want. seal in a ziploc n return to freezer. Crystal Clear!

Richard Chrz saw this on the interwebs. There was a new crystal clear ice maker doing a first issue, $15,ooo.oo
