Wife and I Went to a Cabernet Sauvignon class today at Total Wine. Really enjoyed the experience and learning more about the cabs and similar that come from around the world. We tried 10 different bottles (1 Roset bubbly to start - as they said this opens up the palette and experience). Had some ok wines, but 4 of the last 5 were excellent! Ended up buying these four to pair up with some nice meals over the summer!
Davey Family Cab - Australian
Sheridan Cab - Washington
Sextant Cab - Paso Robles
Sky and Vine - Napa
My wife and I have never been to a wine class, so this was a fun way to learn about the differences!

One of my reps brought samples. I’m trying this tonight. Whatever little head dissipated but the time I grabbed my phone! The flavor profile is as described in the 2nd picture. But without the Tajin bite. I wouldn’t drink these a lot as a stand-alone (watching a game or tending the cookers). But I would have this as a miche!

Retired, living in Western Mass. Enjoy music, cooking and my family.
Current cookers Weber Spirit 3 burner with a full insert griddle added. A 22" Kettle with vortex, SnS and a Smokey Joe. The most recent addition is a Pit Barrel Jr with bird hanger, 4 hooks and cover. ThermoWorks Smoke 2 probe, DOT, 2 ThermoPops and a Thermapen MK4. A Thermoworks RFX Gateway 2 probe meat thermometer.
We went to Whole Foods and I eyed this. I was looking for a hard seltzer which I like but haven't had in awhile. I liked all organic and the ingredients. The flavors intrigued me. The 10% ABV caught my eye too. I had the lime tonight. At this ABV. one is the limit. On sale for a big $1 off. A 6 pack $11 discounted from $12. Big savings. I liked it.

Wife and I had our galavant Saturday outing….the neighborhood brewery for a snack and a seltzer for her and an Old Fashioned for me, then to Lowes to pick up some charcoal and a few solar lights, and then dinner with our son and his girlfriend. An enjoyable afternoon finished with a night out by the fire!
This empty nest stuff in a few months is going to be a change, but I think my wife and I will enjoy the time!
have ribs going on the 22 kettle, and enjoying a 2018 Central Waters Scotch Ale gifted to me by a neighbor who collects and cellars beer. Fantastic beer. Enjoying. Small fire to keep me from shivering.
Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.

Tried this which I believe either Skinsfan1311or barelfly recommended. Lovin' it. Definitely a rye, and definitely has a barrel proof burn, but that doens't mask the tastiness. Has less of that bubblegum vibe that some sweeter ryes give me (Templeton comes to mind in that regard) but for sure has that 'mowing the lawn on a hot day' or 'cutting hay' sensory effect.
I’ve yet to give this brand a try. Skinsfan1311 and Alan Brice were the two that have the collection of New Riff. I went into another shop that carries some different stuff like this, but they didnt have it. So, off to the next store at some point to see if they have it.
Glad that you like it! They're doing great things at New Riff. Though I prefer the bourbon, every iteration of their whiskey that I've tried is very good to excellent & I've never had a bad one. We always keep a couple bottles on-hand. The standard BiB is very good too. I like that their BP offerings are typically lower proof, something like 111-115, which is squarely in my wheelhouse. You've inspired me to have a pour this evening, after I get home from golf, (off tomorrow!)
Skinsfan1311 Yeah this BP is 108.5 proof, which to me is rather low for BP but great for actually tasting it. No complaints at all. I also like that New Riff isn't MGP (not that there's anything wrong with that, after all I don't butcher my own beef or pork that I smoke, I buy someone else's) but that they see the whole process through on their grounds. To me that's an extra layer of cool that many distilleries can't claim.
