Cocktail hour now that we are back home. After doing yard work and getting the lawn spring ready today, this is much deserved

for the wife, on the right is a Dirty Vodka Martini. For me, on the left, is a Martinez meets Manhattan. I substituted bourbon for the gin, which the Martinez calls for. I’m sure there is a name for this, as it really is a Manhattan with a few extras in it, This is really good!

I’ve always really like Kentucky Owl Confiscated. That said this Takumi edition is delicious too. Was a nice way to celebrate the new gasser and kick off March Madness!

I saw a bottle of the BigNose Kate somewhere recently. Not sure where I was, but How is it?

Ha! Researching - it’s made in Santa Fe, New Mexico! I may just have to pick up a bottle of this.

I got that Big Nose Kate as a birthday gift from a friend that tends bar. Apparently, it has some sort of local connection to Portland. I saw it advertised at the sports bar I posted here earlier too. I wasn't too impressed though. I don't know what it cost but I probably won't be buying it again.

I picked up the martini ball and ran with it! Three special olives. Two stuffed with anchovies, one with bleu cheese.
I spritzed the glasses with dry vermouth. Shake well with ice and strain.

tmaan235 Please note that these glasses are huge. Actually I use them more for ceviche or shrimp cocktail presentation for special occasions. They are beautiful and heavy AF.

shaken!!!!! my wife would really enjoy that! And an spritz of the DV - I’ve not tried that before. Perhaps I’ll see how that works for the martinis I make for my wife. And I spy the spirit animal! Ha!!

Last night Guinness and Elijah Craig Small Batch and a pretty good cigar. Clancy Bros. & Tommy Makem on the ol' Wi-Fi Hi-Fi.

Sadly, that was far past it's prime. Basically soy sauce, and a drain pour.

This held up far better than I expected, especially considering our bottling line at the time. It was either from 2010 or 2011.

A bit of soy sauce and the barrel was gone but it was still pretty good. Probably should have drank it 3-4 years ago.

barelfly I received this spray bottle years ago. But any travel size spray bottle will work. I only pour an ounce or so in it, because you use so little. Basically, it was about about 4 spritzes. TJ olive bottle to show scale 😉
