Relishing my new-found freedom from cooking/cleaning until the kids and grandkids return in another 6 weeks ( they just completed a 10-day visit), when I will be back in full "House Staff Mode" once again.
It was a wonderful visit, but golly, I'm whipped! Hence, the Manhattan.
Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.

I saw these when I was in Denver a few weeks back…I knew I should have bought one! Oh well. I’ll keep an eye out, especially since I’ve enjoyed the EC stuff. Also saw the McKenna 10yr bottle - you ever try that?
barelfly Yes McKenna 10 is good. It's a good sipper, but personally I like it as a solid mixer, it stands up great, but there are better out there considering its newly-raised price, in my opinion. I think it used to be ~$40-45, but now it's like $65-70, eehhhhhh..and in some places more. This one here I picked up for $60, and it should only be $50 really, but it's better than McKenna, again, in my personal opinion.
barelfly Continued... to add perspective, I am decidedly *not* a fan of Angel's Envy bourbon, but many really like it so personal opinion is just that. [shrug]
