Far Niente Estate 2020 Chardonnay Napa Valley (It was a gift )

This 2020 richly aromatic with notes of white fig, and citrus blossom, this captivating Chardonnay slowly builds on the palate, progressing from silky notes of honeydew, nectarine, and lemon zest to a full finish supported by elegant, toasted oak.

    ...Really Frk'n good

Bad Hat BBQ agree on the price. Special occasion wine for this house.

Send some of that chill down here to your southern neighbors.

Spring water from Maine. It doesn't even deserve a blurry picture or name association.

Tonight we drank Chateau Feret Lambert Bordeaux Superieur, 2017, another one of our Total Wine, Winery Direct coupon specials, bought at $13.27/bottle (the 2018 is running $19.99/bottle, before discounts).

I love this wine. It is not a high end Bordeaux, but for the price we paid, it was an outright steal. Lots of body, great finish, easy to drink. It was not the best choice to pair with the pork chops I grilled tonight, but still a great wine for our inventory.

Oh, my son also made some fruit punch soda, which was really good, but I don't have a pic.

HotSun duly noted. Please see below 🍷

Poured this with a reverse seared ribeye and sautéed spinach. Opened it at 5:15 pm and drank at 7:00-ish. Wow. It was perfect with rich ribeye. I’m in a food coma right now.

HotSun go to TJ and load up on two buck chuck. And make sure you get a few of their pork tenderloins. About 5 bucks a tenderloin.

I haven’t priced out Justin because I am a member, I will check next time I am in there. And here in Southern California, it’s 3 buck chuck. 🤣

RichieB, our supermarkets and the states near us don't allow in-store wine and beer sales. However, when I go to Virginia for business, I will usually swing by Aldi (same parent company as TJ's) and load up with a couple cases of wine, all under $10/btl. They have a decent Chianti and pinot grigio, and these are the same wines we had when we lived in Spain and Portugal a few years ago (we shopped Aldi there, too). Not a fan of 2 buck chuck, but their other wines are good values. Thanks!

Yikes! One and done, right? That’s a great beer for a cold winter’s night. You get extra points for drinking one in the summer, unless you turned your thermostat in your house down to 55F.

It is indeed rich. I got into trouble with a growler of that stuff one winter. Gory details not forthcoming. 🤢🤢🤢

                Gotta' love local hooch.

Wollershiem and J Henry and Sons are both local distillers (Prairie du Sac and Dane, WI). J Henry won world double gold in 2016 for their Patton Road Reserve bourbon and Wollersheim just won a national gold for their rye whiskey. I am fortunate to have such high grade local producers. Good for them, and good for me ! Give them a try if you can get them where you live. Both the award winners are single barrel products therefore proof runs high; so make sure you are safely seated when "sampling"
