My Mrs. called me at noon to tell me that she wanted BBQ’d pork steaks and sweet potato steak fries for dinner. I said Yes Ma’am. She then said she wanted to have a drink by the fire pit tonight. I said " Mrs Neal, we don’t have a fire pit" then she said " well I guess you better leave work early" the I said "yes ma’am" then she said " and that’s why ladies marry red-necks!"

      Cheers !

You might be a redneck if you leave work to build fire pits. That’s gonna be one sweet fire pit! 😎

Very nicely done my friend. SWMBO will be proud of you.

WayneT it turned ok! Made from material on hand. Or as my Mrs likes to call it " the pile of crap behind the garage". I just showed it to her and she said again " yep, that’s why ladies marry red-necks!"

Well I’ll have to join that redneck club. Got slate, cast concrete, flagstones, etc. all piled up near the woodpile. That’s what screen plants are for.

        Nice!

I've got 3 pallets of various sizes at the lake house.

Not enough for our planned firepit (of course) but enough for a walk to the pit.

Bogy I hope your Mrs enjoys her new walk way!

A tasty winter ale from a local brewery. It’s kinda weird drinking a winter ale since it still feels a lot like summer here. It hasn’t rained more than a couple of light sprinkles since spring. Normally it would be pretty rainy here by now.

I'm not sure if cider doughnuts are available where you are, here in New England it's a common fall offering. So why not cider doughnut hard cider? Really does have that taste and at 6.9 A.B.V. one is enough.

It's a light beer with a hint of lime..

I think this is what is meant by self-actualization.

Sitting on the deck on a cool autumn day, eating Low Country jalapeño pimento cheese on Stacy’s Simply Naked pita chips, drinking Chimay Grande Reserve Ale, listening to tunes on the portable speaker, reading a bread baking book and, smoking ribs. I do have to stay under the umbrella though or I’d get knocked out by falling acorns.
