        One of my fav.
When we were just in Berlin we were totally bummed when the Paulener beer house we always went to, switched to another brand, Hacker-Pschorr, not as good.

I agree, all 3. Really good.

Tonight, a nice pour of Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit while making a big batch of French onion soup.

In honor of Oktoberfest, and since everything is better smoked, I picked up some smoked beer at our local German market.

                Miracle water..

This is REALLY GOOD! A Bavarian smoked beer. Wish I was having this with some brats or brisket or pulled pork. Have some more in the beer fridge so I’ll save them for some good meats.

                Rounding out our brunch…
The stainless flute was from our earlier champagne…
Anyway, a quick Bloody Mary to start the afternoon. ;-)

Been up since roughly 4:30am my time, so I use the excuse "it's like 4 hrs later to me right now" to my wife when I cracked open a beer at 10am.

This is another great one. A touch of a sweeter finish that many IPAs and a very faint sourness, but it works well I think. 8.2% ABV.

That’s one of my son's faves. He gets it on draught when we go to one of the locals.

Bottle kill, out by the fire. Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit.

Old Fashioned ….. 3 parts rye whiskey (Woodinville Whiskey Co), 1 tsp club soda, 1 tsp simple syrup, several dashes Fee Old Fashioned Bitters, 1 nice sized piece of orange peel.

Wipe the rim with orange peel
stir in club soda, syrup, bitters
                    Add large, single ice cube
                    pour rye over ice cube
Twist orange peel over drink, then add to it

                    Drink, enjoy

Huskee that 1 tsp of club soda is not nearly enough to "dilute" the whiskey. But the simple syrup and club soda, together, help to enhance and bring out the bourbon or rye characteristics. At least, in my experience.
