My boiler tech ran out on his lunch break to go buy me this for my birthday! It’s not till next week but I am officially on vacation and won’t be back till after!
We were talking about it as he had some at a wedding this past weekend and knows I’ve drank a bit of Jim Beam over the years.
It’s real sweet for a Bourbon or Jack drinker but it’s tasty and a nice “ something different”. Guessing it was meant to be for college kids to mix and do shots of but I’m marinading ice cubes in it.

I don't know how many Belgian beer snobs there are here but who ever heard of a decent wine/beer store NOT carrying Westmalle Belgian Tripel? That's just not right and my local Total Wine just informed me of that piece of bad news.

I’ll have to tell about my first Belgium beer experience.
I was by myself, walking around Brussels after arriving a few days early on a business trip.

I stayed close to the EU HQ, and only speak Appalachian-English. So I pull up to a sidewalk table and through the window, pointed to a nearby placard featuring a pink elephant!

I was thirsty and quickly had 3 rounds…

That was when I realized I had to sit at that table until the dizzies wore off!

Delirium Tremens was the name of that beer!

Delirium is awesome. I think they have a seasonal beer that's about to come out again.

          Refreshingly Norwegian..
          Cheers!

I tried my hand at an Espresso Martini…..I didn’t care for it though, as it was not really what I was looking for. Only had bailey’s for the liqueur and that was bleh! Ha. I need to make my own coffee saccharum and give it a try then, or find a good coffee liqueur.

              Isn’t Kailua coffee liqueur?

Yep, Kahlua is a coffee liqueur. I didn’t have any of that and also haven’t really enjoyed kahlua in the past. But, if I can find a small bottle, or perhaps my buddy has some I could try it for that.

I'm not sure if it qualifies as a liqueur but I'm a huge fan of Patrone XO.

              She's a peach!

A weird tradition that we have, our first Oktoberfest beer of the season has to be on the day we close the pool. The picture is a few weeks old, I forgot to post it.

This is one of the best barelfly.

Halloween night fire in the driveway waiting for the little ghosts and goblins . For the adult trick or treaters, apple brandy from a local winery.

CHNeal my tried and true recipe is from Marcella Hazan and the risotto Milanese on the next page. There are times I omit the gremolata and then regret it.

You will love the Dutch oven, I have the Lodge double Dutch and it's awesome. I plan on using it outdoors over charcoal for the chili cook off, might be a good way to break it in.
