This is a pretty delicious bourbon from Kentucky Owl. This is their Japanese Bourbon. Sweet and smooth with caramel and cinnamon notes. Pleasantly tingly on the palate. Very smooth.

Picked up this little bottle of Woodford Rye - I’ve been wanting to try some different ryes, and thought I like Woodford…should like their rye. So, this 375ml was a perfect way to give it a try. Straight, enjoyed it, but made an fRYEday Old Fashioned with it to really get into it!

My son gave me this bottle for Christmas. I liked it. I want to try their malt whiskey.

Nice! I don't care for the Woodford bourbon, but the rye is very good. Enjoy!

Revisiting this one this evening. I think I prefer the 1920, but this is a close 2nd.

Oooh! I like this one!!! Have you found the new OF 1924 out yet?

barelfly I haven't seen the 1924 but the MSRP is $115.00 and I'm sure that the liquor stores around here will jack the price even higher, so I have no interest, especially when my favorite, 1920, is readily available & more reasonably priced. For that kind of $ I can buy a bottle of KC12 year, WT101, OF100 and have money left over. Full disclaimer: I'm a cheap bastard and proud of it. I'm not afraid to spend, but it's got to be worth it, in my mind anyway..

This is a new bottle to me. I really enjoy Angel’s Envy, so wanted to try this Finished Rye and it is great!

I didn't care for it, at first, because it's really rum-forward and kind of sweet. We've found that we really like it as a dessert pour. I'll replace the bottle when it's gone...

Skinsfan1311 - yes, perfect for a dessert pour. It is sweet and rum foward, so not something I would have as a daily drinker. This would be great as the night cap to send off and dessert! Ohhh…would be great with my German Chocolate Cheesecake

Last weekend of pheasant hunting season. Have a “usual” crew who get together for watching dogs, camaraderie, and tall tales. Had a fair number of delicious bourbons, but, this remains one of my all-time favorites. Delicious.

I just got a bottle of this a few weeks ago. Waiting to open it though, hoping to get a bottle of CYPB so I can have a blind tasting of all six!

Hope you enjoyed the pheasant season!

Enjoying a pour of ol’ EHT - I thought I’d have a sipper of one of Huskee favorite pours since his Lions are playing tonight

I read reviews that the Larceny had a nice smooth sweet taste. I agree. I read reviews that the Knob Creek had a great spiciness to it. I also agree. I enjoyed both pours this weekend.

Today after a shit show at work I decided on having a pour to unwind and relax. I decided that since I enjoy both of these this weekend that I’d mix them together for my pour this evening. And I believe I enjoy it more than both of these bottles by themselves.

It gave me both sweet and spicy in one sip.

Anybody else ever blend two different bourbons together for a drink?

Huskee has an infinity bottle, blended with a number of spirits. I’ve yet to do that, or blend as well. And If you like that combo you created, look/ask for mash bills that are high wheat and rye. You should find a few good bottles that fit that and provide that profile you enjoyed tonight. Heaven Hill makes a number of good bottles that are available you would enjoy.

Yup! I have an infinity bottle as well. I don't drink it very often, but it's very good. I know quite a few people who blend them on a regular basis. I'm too lazy, but I do put a splash of early release of Stagg Jr into Buffalo Trace, or Eagle Rare 10 year which makes them both much better. I tried it with Wild Turkey Rare Breed Rye & WT101 rye. If you ever snag a bottle of Larceny Barrel proof, cut it 50/50 with the standard Larceny & it's really a case of the sum being better than its parts

A few pours tonight…may feel this a bit tomorrow, but eh…it’s fRYEday!!!!!!!!!!

started off with a few Clyde Mayes Old Fashioneds while cooking up The Ultimate Beef Stroganoff. Then gave this bottle of BH Toasted a try and enjoyed it - smooth toasted flavor which surprised me, I didn’t expect much from this BH bottle. And now finishing the night with a dessert pour for fRYEday! Angel’s Envy Finished Rye. It’s good…but shouldn’t mix toasted and finish with this…not the greatest pairing. But still good!

Having a nip of this little bit of deliciousness. It is a blend of straight rye whiskeys from Park City, Utah. I’d highly recommend. Sweet and smooth some some mild cinnamon and just a light tongue tingle that changes to mild Carmel notes after it has a bit of water added.

I’ve heard great things about this bottle but haven’t tried it yet. Had the chance to buy late last year but passed on it with the increased pricing on it. Your bottle is a few years old, based on the act #?

Not sure about the age. It was gifted to me and then we decided to have a bit. Delicious and now I have only the scraps left. Had a great visit while sipping though so totally worth it!

              Cool!

MM BEP - fresh crack - this is oakier than the last bottle of BEP I had, at least more so than I remember, and that’s not a bad thing.

I had a pour of this last night. The cork broke on the original bottle and wouldn't come out. I pushed the cork into the bottle, strained it through a coffee filter, dumped it into this one and made a fancy label for it...

A bourbon-drinker's got to do what a bourbon drinker's got to do. I bet that Calumet is delicious. Haven't seen it around my neck of the woods, so I'll enjoy it vicariously, new label and all.

fzxdoc Yup! It's the first cork-fail that I've had in years. I have a couple decanters, but they already have whiskey in them and the BBC bottle was headed to the recycle bin. I've had the Calumet 8 year and the 14. The 14 year is a tad pricey. They have a 15 & 16 year, but I've read mixed reviews on them and some of my bourbon geek buds have had all of them and the consensus among them is that the 14 year is the best of the bunch.

I've resisted buying this one because they charge $49.99 for it and it chafed my cheap-ass to fork over that kind of $$ because the 6 year BiB was such a great buy.
