I love WT Rare Breed but am not sure if I've had this expression. This was the celebratory whisky I bought myself when our first born came into our lives on Dec. 10, 2009.

Jumping in on the Amburana craze. This would be fantastic at a lower proof. Amazing flavor of baking spices or just over run with heat.

Does an ice cube or splash of water help it at all?

Huskee loves this bottle! As for the other EHT varieties, never had them. The Small Batch bottle is all I have tried, and see available from time to time (it’s been a since earlier in the year). But it is good! I’d love to get my hands on a barrel proof, or even the rye. But ha! Not at secondary prices!

Indeed I do barelfly. EH Taylor remains my favorite bourbon, especially so if you can find it at its MSRP of $45, it's almost unreal to think it's actually supposed to be priced that low. I cannot find anything wrong with it. Richard Chrz I've had the Single Barrel, and it's wonderful too. In fact I still have one in my stash unopened from 6 or 7 years ago. I've not had their rye myself but someone I trust has, and he told me it's nothing to write home about. YMMV of course.

Ha! No one can post until Huskee gets home now!

.I’m not going to crack it right away, but it won’t be a long wait. Now what meal and possibly cigar to pair with it.

I had a pour of the Triple Mash last night, it’s a solid pour, or at least the first one was.

I also ordered one of those long skinny bar mats from Jack to go in front of the single barrels

      That’s a good bottle!

Had a great friend over for dinner last night, one that I’ve known for over 18 years, so I sipped on KC18 that I picked up to celebrate my 18yr work anniversary earlier this year. It’s a nice pour, flavor is smooth oak with some great brown sugar and vanilla with a few spices.

Tonight - starting the week off of vacation with KC9BP. I didn’t care for this bottle at first, but it has grown on me. High proof but just didn’t seem to be smooth but that has changed over time. Now that I’ve killed this bottle (a bit of a heavy pour…didn’t want to leave a little sip!), I’m a little bummed! Have to see if I can find this again. Total Wine doesn’t seem to have much of KC, so will look at my other spots.

Haha! Melt the cup! That’s pretty funny!

I got a new bottle today. It was gifted to me by a friend, who received it from a gentleman that goes by the name Bourbon Santa. He gives away a bunch bourbon every month, and shipped this to my friend to give to me. (Richard’s Pick), apparently represents the owner of a liquor store. But it is how it arrived at my house today.

Also this sign is sent with every bottle,

I love that bottle, pretty certain you tempted me into it, I’m having a regular 101. I’m realizing quickly I like high proof rye’s, as well as high bourbon’s. But Rye’s are pretty damn great.

Richard Chrz - I’m with ya. I love the high proof bottles. For those bottles that may be a tad hot, I started to add a small ice chip/cube and it rounds them out well!

Saying that, I stayed low proof tonight. I think this was the highest proof of what I sipped on. Woodford Double Oak and finished with MM BEP Finish. Went well with our dinner!

I need to try some of that.

Some of the benefits of buying 95% of my alcohol and wife’s wine at Total Wine - I get these random emails that I can come and spend more on cool bottles of bourbon like this!

Old Fitzgerald 10yr - never had this but have seen it on videos and such. A really cool decanter bottle and the bourbon is really good. BiB so not hot, but does have some cinnamon spice to it along with some vanilla notes. A nice add to the collection!

Wow! I am a simple man. For a buck thirty, I can find a beautiful crystal decanter.
Is the bourbon that good? Fitz makes Larceny and I like that a lot. I think a handle is $40-50 bucks.

I'm celebrating a successful Pennsylvania hunt with a great Pennsylvania rye.
