I enjoyed this bottle, but…forever how hard it was to get it ..it wasn’t one of my favorites…

After the blind tasting, they were all good! Of the four, I’m only familiar with EHT. Old Fitzgerald I had last weekend for the first time, and only a small tasting of it. HH and 1792 I have yet to try, so this was more of a tasting to see what I picked up on the nose, palate and finish as well as which one I enjoyed the most.
For me, as I mentioned, they were all good. Unfortunately all four bottles are hard to come by, so I’ll nurse these over time!
The most enjoyable bottle for me, was 1792 (about $45). I thought the nose carried over very well to the palate and had a great finish. Picked up vanilla notes, with some cherry as well.
EHT ($45) was a close second, a little more softer on the nose but a well-rounded flavor that I enjoyed.
Old Fitz 10yr ($160) was third - was very light on the nose, but offered some cinnamon on the palate to me, as well as a few spices.
And rounding it out, Heaven Hill ($50) - this one confused me a bit - had a wonderful nose but that didn’t carry over to the palate. The palate was spicy compared to the sweetness I got on the nose. The flavor was nice, and something I will enjoy over time.
as a side note, Old Fitz and Heaven Hill come from the same distillery. EHT from Buffalo Trace and 1792 is from Barton 1792 - I really enjoy their Full Proof bottle, and the Wolcott Reserve Rickhouse bottle that also comes from their distillery.
But for now - I sit and watch MI:6 - Dead Reckoning and sip on a pour of the winner for the night - 1792 BiB!

STEbbq - all the1792 are good, at least the three I have had (SB, BiB and FP). BiB and FP are somewhat of an “allocated” bottle, but I have seen these twice this year. The FP, if you like higher proof bottles, is really good! One of my favorites actually!

Attjack I can not speak for the SBBPRye yet, but next week I’m having a sip of my bottle. The JD SBBP that is super easy to get, is so incredibly worth it. I’m beyond excited to open the Rye next week.

Attjack and Richard Chrz I agree with barelfly, the JDSBBP Rye is amazing. The ONLY rye I've ever had that I think is better is Alberta Premium Barrel Proof Rye. And that's purely from an "I gotta pick one" decision after tasting both side by side. The JD is awesome.

I do feed my friends well. HA
I make 12-24 loaves a month for him to use as part of a meal deal, where the proceeds go to pay off the local school districts lunch debt.

barelfly I have not, I might break it open on NYE, I do not have high expectations, and considering it more of a JD collectors bottle than an actual enjoyable bottle.

Just finished an Old Forester 100 proof bottle and have these two crowd pleasers on hand. EW White is an exceptional bourbon for the money and Crown Royal is perfect tor those who want to put on airs but don't know better. (J/K, it is the smoothest thing to come out of Canada since Ryan Reynolds).

I’ve not had either one of those yet, but the Evan 100 proof has me intrigued for sure,

Evan has been my fall back when the better choices are already taken. There is a 1.75 that makes it quite economical. Great sipper n stands up to a cube.

Never been a fan of blended Canadian Whisky. (Notice there is no "e")
