I hit the liquor store for a freezer bottle and some Summer beer, but couldn't pass on the KC12 for $62.99.

Finally cooling off enough to sit out on the patio in the evenings…so I had to take an hour to clean

and now, I’m enjoying some Colonel EHT and reflecting on the week a bit, specifically my son and dropping him off for his first year at college. It’s a smile kind of night with a few of the texts he sent me

I have been enjoying this for the last couple of weeks. I am a big fan of everything maple.

I do not get the “smoked” aspect of it. I believe since I eat more smoked meats than most, I don’t taste “smoked” like most other people. I believe it needs to be stronger smoked for me to taste it.

I’ve also used 5 oz. of this and three vanilla beans to make some home made vanilla extract. I’m not going to sample this one until 6 months from now.

I also plan on using some of this this weekend to make Bourbon Pecan Pralines.

            Those pralines sound excellent!

I also picked this up for Saturday. Have 6 to 7 people I work with coming over for some BBQ. I figure we can sip on this after dinner around the fire. What I read it is one of the best rated bourbons under $50.

The sample I tasted today was quite enjoyable.

Yep - FR is a great bottle to go with!

we need Whiskeyman53 to add some of his great posts to this thread as well! He’s put up some great bottles the last week!

I’ve enjoyed what everyone has added in over the time of this thread. I’ve picked up a few bottles based on the posts here, and also looked for a few others but haven’t been able to find them!

It's time that I do what the topic states and show my Bourbon, Rye and Scotch.
Here we have the special and very special occasion pours. The Sam Houston will most likely not be opened. The distillery only supplied 2 single barrels per state and that bottle is one of the three hundred for Massachusetts from the single barrels.

I have had the privilege of meeting several distillers who have helped me build a collection of signed bottles. I had to finish them before I could display them. Except for the bottle from John Taffer, that most likely will be a Halloween night pour.

How about a story time moment on how you procured that ORVW bottle

Oh and that 291 bottle from Colorado - how is that? I see that when I go visit my daughter and it has won so many awards but I’m afraid to drop the coin on it. How do you like it and what is it comparable to?

barelfly, my wife and I have developed a great professional relationship with the owner of a local liquor store. He was able to get 1 bottle of Old Rip Van Winkle and gave us first chance to buy which we did. It's called Pappy's little brother and is outstanding. The 291 was a very generous and much appreciated secret Santa gift from MBMorgan, I highly recommend it, it's barreled with wood other than oak which is very unique. Sip it sitting by a fire for a great experience.

Having a sipper of Maker’s Mark 2023 BEP - man the more I drink this bottle, the better it gets. I’m gonna have to do a blind side by side of this and a Weller SR or even 107. It is a dang good bottle and making me wish I bought another for a back up.

My nieces wedding was last night, her husband and my connection all things bourbon is my BIL. We killed over a dozen btl of Weller Antique 107. The code was, Maxine, the couples dog. That got you a dbl pour. Open bar, a great time was had by all.

Not sure where this bottle can be found on the mainland, but enjoying it while on vacation in Kauai. Local bourbon of sorts, distilled in Washington. But a decent pour, would make a great Old Fashioned!

Man! That high def really jumps out at you.

Not drinking this but wanted to share this cool metal tin box of JD that my dad has had for years. The metal tin is probably worth more than the bottles of whiskey
