It’s interesting Makers is doing away with this type of bottle. The BEP edition this year, glad I picked up a back up to this bottle. Such a nice pour!

Celebrated a Birthday last week, enjoying a rye that my wife picked for me. It is fantastic.

            Happy birthday!

Thought I’d share this here - received this email from Smithey this morning….cast iron and bourbon! Perfect for everyone here I love Smithey CI, although I only have the Farmhouse CS pan from them. But love the looks of their CI stuff too. And now you can have some KC18 labeled on your skillet too!

Smithey Ironware Co. designs and manufactures heirloom quality cast iron and carbon steel cookware in Charleston, SC. From skillets to Dutch ovens, roasters to our hand-forged wok, Smithey crafts tools for your kitchen that will last a lifetime.

                That’s a fantastic pour!

My wife bought this bottle a week or so ago. She said it was 59.00, however she said it was in a discontinued bottle bin, so maybe just the one store was not going to carry it, as I saw New Riff still on the shelf, but admittedly did not look to see if there was rye.

If you see it, this is a fantastic pour, and would be bummed now having it, if not still available. For me, this is their better bottle I’ve tried, so far.

Skinsfan1311 I think that is just the Rye, I’ll have to double check, as the other offerings at our stores, are not that pricey, or so if my memory is right. I don’t think their standard bourbon was that price.

Everything is usually $49. Something special may go for more.

Richard Chrz...sounds about right...it's priced all over the place outside of KY. When we visited a few years ago, the standard bonded version was ~ $40.00, and the barrel proof was ~ $50.00...I like the rye, but love the bourbon, both the bonded and BiB. I have a couple picks that a friend of mine did, and those are stellar.

This is one that’s hard to find….probably more money than it should. But, it’s got some good flavor this pour does.

Alan Brice - why yes it does….it’s sitting on the barrel stave with his other 7 friends

My friend's son and daughter-in-law brought this home from Ireland. Not sold in the U.S. Unbelievably smooth

                Envious! Enjoy!

Buddy of mine has a nose for bottles before “they make it big”. Needless to say if he wanted to start selling things for profit, he’d do a good business, but I digress. We sampled this one while my Auburn Tigers stunk it up. Big time mouthfeel, chewy and leathery sip, but smooth to be so high(115 proof). Highly recommend if it’s in your budget. He bought at $80 a bottle. Much higher now….

These GB bottles do go for some $. I’ve never tried them, but will have to look out for these at the bar/restaurant.

Killing the pain, and the bottle, after another loss by my beloved Washington Whatevers. I actually mixed this with some Rare Breed rye. The blend works.

OH YEAH! Sometimes when I make an Old Fashioned I either use one or the other or a mix. Great ryes.

One of the earliest picks from this distiller, not too long after they started their "private selection" program.
I'm not a huge fan of their standard offering, but this pick was so good, I bought 2 of them on vacation in FL, a few years ago, and flew home with them.
I'll let you guess the distillery😉

I love Angels Envy Rye and Bourbon too. My taste buds are so happy when they see me reaching for either of those bottles. Haven't seen the private selection stuff around our neck of the woods.

I have had several bottles over the years, I agree, for $30.00 it's great. I put it in the same category as Basil Hayden, great for $30.00 but only mediocre for $50.00.

Sticking with the Milam and Greene offerings, today I enjoyed the single barrel bourbon with my brother-in-laws . Click image for larger version
