Yesterday, on a whim (while in the liquor store buying a couple bottles of fancy booze for my son in law for his birthday), I bought a fifth of this for my husband and me to try:



We'll give it a try maybe this evening. I'm usually not a fan of blended whiskies, but I like Suntory's Yamakazi Single Malt, so thought I'd trust Suntory's take on this blend.

Anyone tried it?

I have only tried one or two types of Suntory and I don’t recall which ones they were. One was probably the entry level stuff. But excited to hear more about this one and how you like it!

We enjoyed a nightcap of the Suntory World Whisky blend last night and really enjoyed it. They took whiskies from companies they are invested in and made the blend. It was smooth with a nice finish. My taste buds searched out a smokey bit from Laphroaig, since that's on those taste bud's all time fave list. There was a bit of smoke at the end.

So I’ve got a new Bourbon Whisperer. He’s turning me on to some small batch bourbons. I don’t even know if this is generally for sale. But, considering it’s 123.5 proof, it’s incredibly smooth. I’ll report back when I get more info.

I found this single pot still Irish whiskey for under $40 at Total Wine and surprisingly it is a great sipper

Had a bottle of George Dickel in my hand yesterday and the mesquite smoked malt caught my eye on this bottle. It has a nice flavor and mellow. I don't like my whisky too smooth, I do enjoy the body of a good pour.

I like weird, experimental stuff. BBQ, booze, you name it. Do something different and I’m all about it. So when Binny’s (local liquor store chain) did an exclusive release with Starlight who is known for doing weird stuff, I bought in immediately. Poor decision. These were both young, tannic messes. But, I applaud the creativity either way.

So does the King Squatch come with the bottle? Of is that an actual bottle of bourbon? I’ve heard a few YT influencers talk about Starlight - It’s not something I see in New Mexico, but remember it being pricey. Sorry it doesn’t hit…always a bummer when we buy something, have a sip and it misses….

and I see now it’s two different star light bottles. I do like the King Squatch!

Fresh crack…and new bottle that I found. I’ve always enjoyed the various KC pours and this one is right there! Good flavors with this!

Getting ready to reverse sear a steak on the Weber Kettle and SnS. I like this bourbon better than my trusted Makers Mark. I hope it stays available .

Probably my all-time favorite "daily drinker" with Eagle Rare 10 yr being a close second. Also love an Elijah Craig Barrel Proof.... maybe, I have too many favorites! :-)

Sippin' this one right now as I sit here. One of the smoothest I have had for an over 100 proof (116). Nice flavor also
