Titan IPA from the Great Divide Brewing Co. Outstanding, great hoppy flavor at 7.1% ABV. Golden color, a low foam stand but some nice lacing. Delish!

Old Fashioned with a heavy handed pour of the 101. A well deserved ending to a 12 hour work day.

HawkerXP I haven’t had a hacker pschorr in forever. I need to fix that.

            Btw, nice bird!

I just really enjoy Sunday’s that have all day long elements to the flavor. It’s a great way to welcome in a new.

          Salute

Happy fRYEday to you as well! Sazerac was my go to for tonight’s Old Fashion! Cheers!

So, a perfect Manhattan is 2 parts Rye, 1/2 part dry vermouth, 1/2 part dry vermouth, and a couple of dashes of orange bitters, with a a few brandied cherries. Or so how I understand it,

I understand a Canadian whisky is allowed as well for a Manhattan, but I prefer Rye,

barelfly I need to put some effort into learning a good Old Fashion, I just so avoid any form of liquid sugar, as a type 1, it screws with my blood sugar too much. Sazerac is a really good Rye, isn’t it!

Yes, Sazerac it is good! I rotate between Saz, WT101 Rye and Rittenhouse for my OFs.

As for the sugar…hmmmm. Yes, that’s an issue. I make a 2:1 Demerara syrup. But if you are drinking manhattans, I’d just make an OF minus the SS. You don’t need that sweet, so just add extra dashes of orange bitters, make it more orange forward and add in the angostura bitter. That would make a great OF!

And MsTwiggy - you are making a cross Manhattan/Old Fashion! Drink it the way you like it!!!

Richard Chrz does that make it 2:1 rye to vermouth 😁 - here is my version stained from the 🍒 syrup. I use scant mL and it makes me happy 🔥🔥🐿️
                cheers man

Enjoying a splendid Stone IPA out of San Diego. They've got a good distribution setup, because we get it quite fresh all the way out here on the east coast. An outstanding beer.

I think they opened a brewery in Richmond a few years back. Stone makes some great beer!
