I just received a shipment of a new decaf I bought from a local roaster in Greensboro and made myself an iced mocha latte with it. The roaster is Loom Coffee and partners directly with the coffee bean farmers to help provide a living wage for them.

I don’t consider myself a coffee nerd but like all the details the company provides about the coffee beans and where they’re grown.

Mocha commodity in any decent coffee shop.

And, the result. I got a pound of this coffee and will be comparing it to my Lavazza Dek I currently use. First mocha was delicious.

We have the same set up, with the Bambino Plus and the grinder!

That Bambino Plus is a workhorse, barelfly. I used to enjoy steaming and frothing my milk but as long as the Bambino does it as well as I do, I’m hands off.

Finished off my first bottle of Old Forester 1910. Really enjoyed that bottle. I'll happily take suggestions for my next bottle of bourbon.

If you liked this 1910, you can look for other bottles that are double barreled, or double oaked. One that is readily available and good priced is Woodford Reserve, Double Oak. It’s a great bourbon and should be something you enjoy if you liked this 1910.

There’s a bourbon thread on here as well, you may get some additional recommendations from others there if you ask.

WayneT mentioned my gloating in my post about going to Jamaica. Hurricane Beryl postponed those plans, but I have another reason to gloat. Sometimes your offspring comes up with stuff you never expected. Well my son got me a late father's day gift that literally took my breath away. Certainly gloat worthy...

That’s definitely not gloating but showing your son’s qualities. Well deserved!

WayneT I am gloating with some family members. One of my cousins' wife took him on the Bourbon trail last year and allowed him to spend ungodly amounts of money. He has been gloating for a year...

I like that it’s not as sweet as Buffalo Trace. In my opinion it’s got a lot of the same notes as Buffalo Trace.

I believe this is my new favorite Bourbon.

Grown, distilled, barrelled, aged and bottled on their farm in Nevada.

        So smooth, so delicious.

If you are a fan of bourbon, I could not suggest a better pour for under $50 a bottle.

It’s a nice bourbon for sure! Get on their website and register for special buys/releases. They go quick, but some are excellent from what a few of my other bourbon boards have said.

I want to sample this for sure.... but....

          Nevada has farms? j/k

91° outside with 71% humidity, I need to finish putting things away after the fourth, which turned into the fifth because everyone had Friday off and we had enough food for cookout #2. Anyway, taking a little break. Click image for larger version

My neighbor stopped by the other night with a couple of beers to try. He is part-owner of a brewery in Stevensville, Maryland called Cult Classic. Cult Classic is a bit further than a stone's throw from the Paul Reed Smith guitar factory. Look who stopped into the brewery to collaborate on the perfect pour. It's a pretty darn tasty mash-up of an Irish red and a kolsch ale.

I love both those styles! Nice!

(Queue the little riff from Wayne’s World)

Tasty sips. Mild leather and dark red fruit on the nose. Went with a grilled bavette and wedge salad with lots of bleu cheese. Continued sipping through the evening….. so good. I only had it open about 45 minutes before dinner. Balanced, mellow tannins.

Is this bottle closer to a vodka, or gin?

It’s a taco kind of day….so…I think that makes it an ancho verde margarita kind of day as well
