Not a fan of regular Larceny, but their barrel-proof is special. Great stuff.

Yeah, I've never been a fan of regular larceny. I much prefer grand larceny. I mean, if you are going to commit larceny, might as well go big.

Margarita…despite it being 56° outside. LOL Click image for larger version

fzxdoc yes ma'am. 2 fixed me right up. Purc two managers that work for me have been putting in 55+ hour weeks with their teams for the past two months. I REQUIRED tem to take last week off to recharge. Then, I got two 3 hour hiring events dumped on me (since they were out) plus Friday EVERY SINGLE ONE OF MY PEERS took off along with two of their reporting leadership roles with no notice, just an email the sent late at night. Basically had to run 380+ employees, 4 lines of business.

It's the end of a month, end of a quarter, and end of a half. My line of business is the only one that is Forcast to exceede quota for each. I know, their line of business is not my worry, but I don't operate like that; I took it upon myself to try to get them back on track. Managed to make up 24% of their loss in a single day (and Friday is the lowest volume), so it's a small win. I was there before the first Frontline employee clocked in and there when the last one clocked out. WORK HARD!

You did have a long, hard day, texastweeter . Sounds like you were the right person to be in control, though. Congrats on grabbing some of those loose reins and bringing the job in despite the challenges.

At least you could sip those couple of pours knowing that you had a job well done for the day behind you and could enjoy an evening at home with the wife and kids.

        Kathryn

Worked on one of my rental units in this miserable heat. Pastis to the rescue. Perfect for this pea soup of a day.

fzxdoc pastis mixed w cold water and then add ice. The mixing is all about the drinker so up to you what the ratio should be.

Another classic heat buster - Campari and soda.

I have to sidle up to Campari's bitterness. Looks like you mixed it with a grapefruit soda, which actually sounds pretty good.

Husband loves Negronis, though, so we always have some Campari on hand.

fzxdoc I LOVE the bitterness of Campari. Personally I prefer plain soda but that grapefruit was all we had so I used it. First time. Pretty good. Try it.

fzxdoc If Campari requires too much sidling, you might try one of these others. Same flavor profile but from left to right w diminishing bitterness. Aperol is ubiquitous but the Contratto might be harder to find. Negronis are probably my favorite mixed drink but I tend to drink them as fast as I do a Campari and soda which can be problematic. 😂😂

We have Aperol, too, JCBBQ . That's usually what I head for when wanting a bit of bitterness in my cocktail.

I was wondering about mixing any of these that you suggest with a bit of ginger beer. It sounds weird, so I'll only make a sip's worth to start.

I actually was thinking of making a Mezcal Mule this evening, with Mezcal, Ginger Beer, and a splash of Texas Pete hot sauce. That's how I got on the ginger beer kick.

But I have some blood orange ginger beer that a splash of Campari might do nicely in.

A work day like today calls for a good ol’ Old Fashioned served with Rittenhouse. And it poured here at the house and is the perfect temperature…the patio is amazing on days like this!

One is a Mai Tai and the other is a “Navy Grog.” Nothing like a traditional grog and not too dissimilar from the other. At least the price was ok. LOL,

Didn't remember to take pictures but the flight attendants kept me well supplied Saturday on my flights to Gulfport, MS. ;-)

                    And soon…

Christmas present today….The Rolling Stones concert at Soldier Field. There’s so many reasons to hate this place, which I do. But Beam and Diet Rite? Come on. So gross. This drink was terrible. Luckily I followed it up with a good beer 🍺.
