Last year, we barely got a handful of berries from our mulberry tree. This year it went nuts.

Nuts? They look like berries to me.

The caterpillars better go to chrysalis soon because they ate themselves right out of house and home. 😳 The blue wave is just about to come in!

Nice! I'm still about 2 months away from blueberries.

    Did you say caterpillar?

I've had to knock quite a few of these off the dwarf mandarin satsuma I just planted a couple of weeks ago.

hoovarmin I see what you did there

Tomatoes coming in strong. New PVC trellis that has three more tiers. Replaces some flimsy one I bought off Amazon that got destroyed in a windstorm last year. This one ain’t going NO where.

Still almost 2 months out for me...

We're in the middle of rehabbing our backyard (it was all weeds, broken concrete, and construction debris when we moved in), so all planting this year is relegated to hanging boxes on the back deck. I figured I'd start with the five herbs I use the most: basil, cilantro, parsley, sage, and thyme.

Peppers for my hot sauce business. I have more sprouting to fill in the open spots at the end. Just installed the soaker hose system, it will go on a timer. I have some more in a 2' tall planter in the back yard along with some San Marzano tomatoes.

Those soaker hose setups are great. I had one on a timer in my backyard garden when I lived in VA. I plan on getting another one once my backyard here is rehabbed.

It was a decent year for tomatoes, especially the San Marzanos.

The start of some sun dried tomatoes. They took a week, even in the AZ sun. All of those made one small jar.

The garden is winding down for the summer, but I also have (or had) sweet potatoes, spinach, various lettuces, chard, spinach, eggplant, zucchini, potatoes, escarole, onions (several varieties), chives (year round), carrots, radishes, artichokes, pineapple, Herbs - rosemary, parsley, basil (several varieties), sage, marjoram, thyme and oregano. ...And like Bubba Gump said, "That's about it."

So your season ends in Spring?

Yep, It's backwards here for the most part. There is very little that can handle 110Β°+ temperatures of the summer. I start my tomato plants from seed in July or August. A lot of the plants like herbs are in pots, so I can move them to different places in the yard to control the shade and sun. It's really different gardening here compared to MI where I grew up.

I excel at killing plants that are edible. Don't know why, but it is a fact.

Room for two more tomatoes, or not. Click image for larger version
