Mia is growing some tomatoes. Never had luck with them in this climate, but we are off to a good start this time.

Here's some more pics of the ongoing project I'm doing at my MIL's. If you want what looks like a light on in your garden try The Golden Spirit Smokebush it is a newer cultivar of Cotinus, `Ancot` when the sun hits it just right it's great.

Slugs. CDC put out a warning several years ago to avoid eating vegetables damaged by slugs due to parasites and other bugs they can leave behind. The do like beer so a few beer traps will help if you don’t want to use a chemical killer.

          A gift that keeps giving!

Yogi came by today to sample our blueberry patch. Had to run him off and pick before he comes back!
Hope he doesn’t go for a swim in the pool again! 🤪😳

Do you need a hunting license if it's on your own land? Bear is pretty tasty.

barelfly Joanne lobbies “for good”, I lobby “for vacation” 😁

Harvested 14 jalapenos from the plant that ate my entire water trough planter. See SUWYC for the poppers.

hoovarmin It’s just the one plant but it’s gotten really large. It made it through last winter and just kept going.

When I get a big harvest of Jalapeno's I simply rinse n dry then pop into a ziplock into the freezer. I have kept them well over a year. Cut while still frzn for all yer pepper needs.
Easy to deseed. use yer gloves n don't touch anything else.

Jim White You can move jalapeno's into a garage or something, trimmed down, and they will come back strong in the spring. Well, I have read this can be done and am going to try it this fall.

Wish I could grow some onions that aren't tiny...

I need a yard of your soil for a new raised garden bed, please!

In the greenhouse: two early girls, one beefsteak, one purple Cherokee. Main garden: two Anaheim peppers, a sugar cherry tomato, black cherry tomato, husky cherry tomato, and Juliet tomato. The Juliet is a grape/roma hybrid.

We've downsized our garden quite a bit in recent years. Now we have just 5 tomatoes and a basil plant. The determinate tomatoes are in pots or planters. Our 1 indeterminate is in a raised bed (made with cinderblocks).
