despite the nearly every other day rain, everything but my rosemary plants died while I was in England for almost 2 weeks. Oh well, I'll live vicariously through y'alls posts and try again next year.

I believe the culprit may be a turtle. We have seen 2 box turtles in the yard so far this year. The garden is fenced, but I found a small hole on one corner of the gate that a not too large turtle could fit through. I did check the rest of the garden to see if it was still inside the fence, but I didn't see it. This bite is too neat to be a squirrel. They take several small bite before they decide they don't like tomatoes - and then they try another tomato.

            Looking great!

So BF bought this plant for the front porch. When he brought it home, all the “petals” were the vibrant blue-ish you see. But over time, they seemed to have faded. Peculiar to me….i circled the transitions of colors.

Hydrandeas, not sure which varieties, will change color with the pH level of the dirt.
They are nature's litmus papers. 🙄 Low pH gives you blue hydrandeas, high pH gives you pink ones. I don't know about blue vs white, but if it the same as the blue/pink ones, then your soil pH will affect the color.
I love deep blue Hyddrandeas. My Grandmother had them around her house when I was little.

We have six blueberry plants that no longer get enough sun, so we get enough BBs for fresh eating, but not enough for a pie, (there is a pick-your-own BB farm about 20 min from here). Here's what I'm picking.

As I was picking BBs today, I noticed a leaf on one of the plants didn't look right. I looked and then pulled the leaf off the plant:

These tiny caterpillars were on the underside of the leaf. You can see that they have already been nibbling on this leaf. I didn't want them foraging on the BB plant, so I took this leaf and put it in one of the bird feeders.

Loads of tomatoes coming in but I thought I would share what drives me to all my gardening. The tomato (sink) sandwich.
White bread, lots of Dukes mayo, and homegrown tomatoes heavy salted and peppered. Acceptable add-ons are cheddar cheese cut from a block and some potato chips for the crunch and a little more salt. My daily lunch, and sometimes dinner.

Looks great! I just quarter them and devour with a ripe avocado.

I like your interpretation of the perfect fresh tomato sandwich.

I like occasionally go fancy with tomatoes, Kewpie, and garam masala in my 'mater sammie.

                K.

Things are picking up. Basket photo is yesterday’s picking and the other tonight’s.

Lookin' good and I am jealous. 40+ years ago we cleared enough trees in the back of our lot for a garden. Now there's not enough light. Who'd a thunk the trees would get taller??

Tomatoes, cucumbers, poblano peppers, basil, and sunflowers. Next year the sunflowers got on the OTHER side of the garden! The largest one is 9.5 feet tall!!
