Last night the high winds started to come in and my attempts of covering the plants to extend the season a little more was at an end. That and temperatures at night now dropping to freezing. Not the best looking crop now but who would imagine this last picking from a Maryland garden one week before Thanksgiving.

I really want to do a salad garden but I'm concerned about pests. We got hit hard this year with caterpillars or similar of some sort this year. Even my chives which have been pest free for 3 years had issues this year.

ItsAllGoneToTheDogs For the past several years I’ve been using a Neem Oil spray which is a little Neem oil and a little botanical soap mixed in a gallon of water. I spray it on just after sunset so it won’t affect pollinators and so it will dry overnight leaving its active ingredients on the leaves. Anything that eats parts of the plants are killed off but other beneficial insects are not harmed. It also seems to keep in check some plant viruses too.

Backyard Jambo, T1000 Woodmaster, MAK 2 star, 14" & 22" WSM, 2x 22" Weber Kettle, Stoven, Hot Box Grill, Hasty Bake Ranger, RecTeq Bullseye, GMG Davy Crockett; Original Grilla and others I'm not remembering!
I worked really hard last September and got new raised beds in place. I did get greens and turnips out of it. My wood raised beds fell apart after 5 years. I'm going to do something to keep the asparagus bed together -- maybe cinder block.
Here's the new garden:
Got some leveling to do on the small, right hand bed. This one is inside the fence, so the deer haven't found it and maybe Sam the Lab can keep them at bay!

Not as scenic as the nice outdoor garden shots that have been posted … but here in the high plains desert of Colorado … in the dead of winter … and the west corner of the breakfast room, I give you (in the upper unit) Italian basil, Thai basil, and thyme. In the lower unit, just starting to germinate, are a dozen cherry tomato plants.
… and on either side are a water bowl and fountain that only the cat cares deeply about.

hoovarmin Johnny's Seeds has three varieties of Thai Basil. They are a reputable company; I have been getting my seed from them for years.

An update from my earlier post: https://pitmaster.amazingribs.com/fo...59#post1360359
In just a couple of weeks the tomato plants are growing like crazy. The "little" herb garden has been rebooted with all Genovese basil. A few seedlings are visible (not in the photo, though). With luck, we're looking at being mighty tired of all things Caprese in a month or two.

I have no idea what you have. When I got my wheel hoe and attachments that was all Hoss offered, then they gradually added seeds, fertilisers, etc. I wouldn't know about them if it weren't for wanting a wheel hoe. I get emails from them all the time, but still don't associate them as being a seed company and have never ordered seed from them.

Hoss is where I purchase all of my seeds. Even get potatoes from them. My drip irrigation came from them and I also have one of their wheel hoes. The customer support is top shelf and the seed selection is wonderful.
