Mr. Bones Guinness is always a fine choice. One might consider it a staple in my house.

@Elton’s BBQ Another fine choice, and several versions are also a staple here.

surfdog Guinness is definitely a daily part of my uptake...

      A staple, indeed.

It has been 3 months since my hip rebuild and replacement. I have not had a real drink since last November. So in celebration I went into town and bought a 1.75 liter of Canadian Club 1858. I can't find my camera to take a picture and I don't do smart phones. I'm old fashioned.

Cooked indirect Mr. Bones . Rescued this one from the garbage truck. It has some good parts but the bowl is rusted through in multiple places. DA is the code on the lid vent, 2001. I'll post this find when I can find the right place. It's not your typical Performer. weberkettleclub doesn't show this either.

Agreed barelfly Why bother buyin great bourbon, if'n yer jus gonn foo foo it up with other stuff...

Why, I feel like a right Heretic, if'n it's hotter than Hades outside, an I might add in an ice cube lol

Fortunately, I don't keep no ice bout my place; lost my Granny's receipt to make it, several years ago, an sure as hail don't want me no store-boughten...

I'll occasionally concede to a chilled / frozden highball glass, though

Mr. Bones - Only time I’ll add a big ol rock is for an Old Fashioned, and that’s for when it’s hotter than Hades. But I don’t use the good bourbon for that! And occasionally sprite or ginger ale, but again, that’s when it’s hot outside and I need something cold!

barelfly Mr. Bones Bingo! No foo foo unless it’s an Old Fashioned, and it better be a good ‘un.

You might want to invite a lot of mojito drinking friends over. Better add mint juleps.

You're right. I had to switch to juleps yesterday when I ran out of rum.

      I haven't tried it yet.

Just finished a glass of Elijah Craig Small Batch. Debating if a bit of Balvenie Double Wood 12 is in order later to help the sleep come.

      BFlynn +1 on the Balvenie!

Ran out of rum for mojitos.

Switched to Evan Williams bottled in bond.

Its my new favorite value bourbon

        Good night 💤

      @Bflynn,,,
      Pinhook Bohemian is quite nice
balanced heat from the high proof and a nice spiceyness on the pallette drinking it neat
On the Rock,,,just enough heat and the little bit of H2O brings out the spiceyness Moe evenly
Its a limited release,,,,had to give it a go !
