Dramatic looking sky, counterpoised by the serenity of Adirondack chairs, fire pit, relaxing people and cocktails. Nice composition.

Have not done in quite sometime,. It was my goto. Perfect Manhattan. Sweet and dry vermouth, bitters, Makers and cherry shaken. When I worked and traveled it was my pre dinner cocktail. These were hotel bars which were regular for me. All would make as I requested. I don't recall being disappointed. At home, I didn't disappoint either.

My dad loved Perfect Manhattan’s made with brandy and green olives. No bitters. I still have one on occasion in his memory.

A Spicy Bloody Mary on the back patio while smoking a Pork Butt for the neighbors. And this one has some guns on it. Good thing I made a few notes regarding this one.

On a hot afternoon there is nothing like a cold beer while smoking meats and grilling burgers. The price!?! Dear Lord, there is a God! $4.99 for a six pack at Trader Joe's. Yep, my new favorite cheap beer.

I think you hop heads have a majority among beer drinkers. My three sons like them but I just can’t get past that bite on the front end. Cheers!

It turns out that kombucha is great for mixed drinks.

Sounds like an odd combo…. But I am guessing it works!

My wife went to the Costco in Appleton, WI while we were up there and hit the booze section hard. We have state controlled booze sales here in NC, so it’s always fun going where it is sold in stores.

So, doing a little taste comparison between original Hendricks and this new (to us) Hendricks Neptunia. The latter is infused with (more?) botanicals according to the label. It is super smooth and will easily make for a nice sipping gin.

Cool, I have Hendricks here, but not Neptuna, sounds like I need to do a run for a bottle.

I was a big Beefeater fan for the longest time.

Not sure what I think of this, but I keep drinking it, so I must like it. Click image for larger version
