New beer I found. It has a very good and distinct mango taste, as you might expect from the label. Not sweet, but not too tangy. Also works well as a chicken marinade! Sorry the pic didn’t come out as well as I thought. Golden Road Brewing.

Appleton Estate Rum. Discovered this a few months ago. A very smooth sipping rum, and a great mixer. Floral notes and apricot flavor.

How on EARTH have I never made a Gibson before??? I was always a dirty martini guy. This is now my favorite martini foh sho! Also got some new Nick and Nora glasse - seems like the perfect vehicle for this drink. I went 6 to 1 Mahon Gin (Spain) and Dolin vermouth. Also bought these delicious tipsy onions. Freaking Home Run!

SheilaAnn Sisstaah, I know! It’s nuts. I attribute it to my inherent laziness. I swear to god I thought Dirty was the shit. Man! So wrong. Mea culpa, Mea culpa!!

JCBBQ I used to be Team Dirty. Now I just do a fantastic gin, extra dry with anchovy stuffed olives. Or bleu cheese stuffed olives. And if it’s vodka, I ain’t mad at a lemon twist.

SheilaAnn barelfly I was thinking today about a riff on a dirty martini. Your anchovy comment reminded me. Somehow incorporating MSG. Maybe make some msg water instead of brine. I’ll have to try that.

          A late afternoon endulge.

Some Mezcal in honor of Cinco de Mayo. A Naked & Famous: equal parts Mezcal, lime juice, Aperol, and yellow Chartreuse. Fantastic.

I’m definitely enjoying higher proof bourbons these days myself.

For my birthday, I recently bought myself a bottle of Angel's Envy Single Barrel, which is 110 proof, and it was too harsh for my enjoyment. I love the regular Angel's Envy.

I think that is something we acquire JC, I didn't care for the first one I tried but recently they seem to be more smoother on the palate. I need to go back and try that first one again and see if I notice it.

Jeez im becoming a gin aficionado these days. Was gifted this Cotswolds Gin by my daughter’s future in-laws who came from England for a visit. Wedding this August. This is good stuff. I must have 7 or 8 bottles of different gins now. Definitely cheaper than my bourbon obsession. 👍👍

Fun fact: My Mayflower ancestry on my mother's side was a merchant seaman from the Cotswolds. I am only drinking Plymouth for gin these days. It spoiled me.

Haha! I could do the Tequila collection…I’ve held off for now. Only have 4-5 bottles of tequila compared to the bourbon collection and nice cocktail!!!

Straight up dessert bomb. Heavy oak, toffee and stone fruits, it’s quite delicious.

texastweeter , how long do you calculate that's going to last? Congrats, though, on being good.

For me, the minute I can't have something is when I really get a hankering for it. Then, as time goes on, I (on occasion) can lose my taste for it altogether. I gave up wearing makeup for Lent one year and never did that again! Some things are just too essential to give up. Another year, though, I gave up watching a fave TV show and never went back to watching it. So for me, giving up something can go either way as to whether I resume my fondness for it.

When my granddaughter couldn't have popcorn because of her braces, when she got them off, I bought her a bag of Valley Pop Movie Theatre popcorn the size of her bed pillow. She loved it.

                      Boom! Cheers.

Friday Night Sipper. This is great take on a manhattan. A Guillotine: 1.5 Mezcal, 1 Cynar, .5 sweet vermouth. Definitely going in the rotation.

                    Edit: oops DRY vermouth

I need to up my mezcal game… I’m just not even REMOTELY knowledgeable in that regard. I go somewhere like Total Wine…wander over to their mezcal selection…and then stand there staring like a gormless sheep until I give up and get more tequila. LOL

surfdog yeah it’s all new to me. I’ve gotten two bottles since I returned from Mexico. Both good. Just gotta take the plunge. Maybe look up the reviews on the ones Total Wine carries 🤷‍♂️

                    Well…this was actually yesterday…as I prepped. ;-)
