Dude, really? I will never be able to get that mental image out of my head. lol

That's sure some clever artwork there, eh folks ??

I like the image a kettle poised to chomp. That's how I feel when I'm grilling, and I don't even own a kettle.

      Nice artwork, guys!

You need a box with the fancy imprint. No, really, I must insist

Folks I thought you might be interested to see pictures from the manufacturer. Production is in full swing and it's confirmed we have enough inventory to cover every pre-order to date. Now we just need shipping boxes. Those are still tracking for early next week.

I have ever mentioned that I have bad nerves? This is not helping. Please ship mine. I don't need a box. Put it in the flat rate box.
Mine is that one on the right!!
        I guess I'll wait..........

            Whole chicken on the SnS.

This time I experimented. I wet brined the whole chicken for 2 hrs in my usual chicken wet brine (1 C table salt, 1 C sugar, 1 Gal water) usually I go 1 hr. but since it was a whole bird I went 2.

Rub was light garlic powder, herbs de Provence, and fresh ground pepper.

Also, I used water in the water reservoir. A recipe for rubbery chicken? I wanted to see.

Cooke at avg 340-350 for 90 mins according to the "hot & Fast" lighting instructions, 2 maple wood chunks. Breasts were 163, 162 when I pulled it off.

            I'd call that "bite-through" skin!

This was a great cook for a few reasons. I proved that a wet brine doesn't harm the skin, and that cooking with humidity (the water reservoir on the SnS) also doesn't harm the skin. The two used in conjunction do not harm the crispy skin. And, this was one tasty bird!

            Win win win!

Thanks fuzzydaddy The back side wasn't quite as dark, but still 'good' looking. The grate/down side of meat usually doesn't get as dark since most the heat is above grate level. The same thing happens with chops & burgers...which can easily be flipped.

Thank you! A hotter cook doesn't make as picture-perfect looking color (to me), but it's a better eating bird for sure.

I don't know, that color looks pretty damn good to me. Do you think it should be darker?

The Burn no, I think it's too dark. Medium golden looks best to me, but mahogany leads to crisper skin

In order to join the SnS Club, I first must purchase a kettle. I was considering the Master Touch with the 12" removable insert on the grate. Does the SnS obstruct the griddle, wok, baskets, etc. that can be put in that insert?

no it does not. i have removable insert and did some chicken breasts with the SnS and then dumped the remaining coals from the SnS into the middle (with about another 20 white hot coals) and did the fajita veggies on the griddle insert. no issues at all, get the grate with inserts, its an awesome kettle system! while the veggies were cooking with the lid off, the chicken hung around the ring and were still warm and not overcooked

You may also want to check craigs list. I found a 22" webber for $40. The outside was in good shape, not excellent, but she cooks just fine.

I also have found kettles really cheap on CL. I got a 22" and an 18" for $40. Looking for a 26" unit for max capacity

Great looking cook Husk!! man I can't wait to get my SnS. Are you guys still thinking they will ship Monday or Tuesday? Assuming the new boxes come in? Cooks like this just make me Antsy to get mine and start cooking.

Spinaker the plan is to ship on Wednesday. We're giving ourselves an extra day to make sure everything is good to go on the fulfillment side. There are a lot of moving parts in the process.

We understand and thank you for being patient. The good news is once we start shipping Wednesday all the kinks will be out of the system and things will happen very, very fast going forward.
