It was a cold one down at the sauna last night. -9 F. Had to break ice to get in the spring. But the Gent's fire was ripping!

Nope! Cold spring coming out of the sand bluff. Water was at 33 F with 2 inches of ice on the edge. We felt like Japanese Snow Monkeys in there! HawkerXP

        Absolutely! Great shot!

This was Prime Rib: Day two. A quick pre sear in some tallow with garlic, thyme and rosemary in the Marquette Castings No.13! This was so much fun.

When you need a chimney of charcoal quick the paper towel roll trick does a great job of cutting the time in half as well as give you the opportunity for a good flame

Wait, how did I miss this? What do you do, just put the roll in the middle of your charcoal before you light it?

hoovarmin Yep! Place the tube into the chimney then fill up around it with the charcoal. The tube allows the fire to climb into the stack catching many more coals to start from the beginning. It really makes a difference in the time it takes to get a full chimney stated and ready.

            Great shot!!!!!!!!!

Just my rocket stove from Solo Stove. This thing is sweet. It will be fun for camping. I already have a Jet Boil for coffee, but this will be a fun little thing to have around camp and on the patio in the summers. This thing is fun.

I can’t get this little guy out of my head. So frivolous but I think it would be fun to have on a table with a pile of kindling when I’m out on the deck, cocktail in hand in the summer months. Seems so far away right now.
Are you still using this thing and for what? What about you CHNeal I need to have alternative excuses, I mean, reasons I needed to purchase this. S’mores for the kids I think will go a long way, right now I just throw a chimney of coals in the Smokey Joe.

They are a ton of fun. Solo makes two different ones. This one is more for camping because you can set a pan or pot on it to cook. They also make a more low profile model as well. I love it, frivolous, but really cool too. People love it. Andrrr

I just realized I was thinking this is the Mesa but you got the actual stove for cooking, and I see now that it comes in 3 sizes. The fam and I don't get out camping much anymore so I'd probably opt for the mesa.

Mundane by this group's standards but the initial pour never gets old to me, plus I never really get to see it unless it's winter.
