I see you are in touch with your Caveman self.

My whole life I’ve always wanted a wood burning stove. We finally thought it was the right time so I tried my hand at finish carpentry then hired a licensed contractor for the actual stove install. Then boom! I’m feeding the "curing" flame INSIDE my own home! May seem odd to some but it’s been a lifelong desire of mine so here it is.

Addendum to my earlier comment: 'Tis not odd, though mebbe seen as such, by others...

Personally??? I prefers me th term 'Primal'!!! (Will settle, conditionally, fer 'Rustic', in a dadgum pinch...)

I love the sight of a freshly dumped chimney with every coal fully ablaze. I never wait for all of the coals to be lit but those that are unlit at the top consequently always end up at the bottom of the pile so...

I also love flipping open the exhaust vent on the WSCG and looking down the hole like I’m pulling a fast one on the grill gods into allowing me to actually see the forbidden magic that can’t usually be seen between fire and food once you close the lid. But you have to view from the side unless you want to cook your eyeball as well.

PSA: What happens if you leave the top off the PBC too long after a turkey cook.
I can at least say my barrel is now clean.

Here is what my baby looks like now.

Not sure if I would advise this. I've lost all my built up insulation. I let it go for a little while and used the lid to put out the flames (before neighbors called the fire department) I'll post the results. @Dadof3Illinois
For my kettles I use the cleaning procedure on http://weberkettleclub.com/weber-gri...ttle-cleaning/

Solo Stove fire. Kid says it looks like an exploding star in a sci fi movie.
