    That is a great pic Aaron and will be hard to beat.

    The only open flame pic I have is of the Weber Gasser when I was adjusting the flames. As you can see the flames are a bit rich in this pic and they need to be leaned out.

      Thanks Huskee. But the blue flame from the gasser has no warmth from it like that pic of yours of the Yoder firebox. That pic is food for the soul.

        Ah, Pittsburgh Rare!! I love it, maybe 90 sec/side to get really charred up. Need a min of a 1.5" thickness with 2" being optimum in my assessment.

            Daniel Leigh Here we call them charcoal briquettes (sometimes spelled briquets or abbreviated briqs). Waiting until they're white, or ashed over, before cooking is really only necessary if you use charcoal starter on them. That way you're sure it's burnt off before cooking.

            ...and during long cooks they light as they will and there's no harm. Use a couple wood chunks and the flavor is spot on!

          My KettlePizza rig with the blast furnace fired up. could get a dome temp as my infrared just flashed, meaning over 1000. Cooked a mean za though.

            BBQ Dragon making flames shoot out the bottom air vents in my charcoal bowl. Here I'm drying and then preburning logs in my old upright Brinkmann for tomorrow's brisket cook.
