Had my usual few Guinneas, after work...YUM, as always.
Then, one measure of 'Buffalo Creek', Single Barrel! Delightful to sip upon...
Now? One measure of Sailor Jerry's...purty decent stuff...

I was with you until the spiced rum. I tried hard to like rum. But alas I was unsuccessful.

Attjack, rum is rare in my uptake; I keep a bottle fer my Bro, Dee Wight's visits. I was strictly a Jack Black guy, until I got stationed in Puerto Rico, in '87...JD was ~$5/gal on base, Bacardi was ~$1.50

Not my favorite. Has a cough syrup aftertaste. But you never know until you try!

Was fortunate enough to partake in Espolon's "Anejo X" black bottle with a friend. I'm not much of a tequila man, but that was a nice sip on the rocks. If your Reposado is anything like the A-X, then you had yourself a mighty fine cocktail!

I'm still liking Old Grand Dad 114 as a solid value bourbon. I'm kind of a Wild Turkey guy, and this is as good or better. For about $25 for a fifth, it's tough to beat.

Had that brew when I was out in San Diego. Fantastic!

I just bought a new (to me) bourbon: Blanton's. I know @Huskee's a big fan, and when I went by the liquor store today I saw it and thought: hey, why not try it? I usually buy Bulleitt, and this cost twice as much. Is that normal, or did I get some fancy schmancy version of Blanton's? It's got a shiny little horse on the cork and a wax seal.

            looks exclusive

Henrik every bottle of Blanton's that I have purchased has had a horse and rider on the top. They change from time to time. I collected a few different ones and then wondered why I started such a collection. After all, it's all the same whiskey.

Whenever I get a new bottle, though, I try to find one with horse and rider in a different pose. All the ones I've seen have silver tops, not gold like the one you bought, which looks to be Blanton's Gold Edition. From the Master of Malt website:
Blanton’s Gold Edition is only sold to select non-U.S. markets. At 103 proof, Blanton’s Gold Edition comes in 10 proof points higher than Blanton’s Original Single Barrel that you can buy in the U.S., which is sold at 93 proof.

At nearly double the price of Blanton’s Original Single Barrel, the value of Blanton’s Gold Edition certainly lies in the eye of the beholder.

Blanton's is pretty tasty, but my fav is still Angel's Envy.

Thanks for the detailed info Kathryn! That sure explains the higher price. And I will most likely need to water it down a bit. Either way, it'll be fun tasting it! And I'll keep an eye our for Angel's Envy.

Lucky devil... that is indeed the "gold edition", not available on this side of the pond, as noted by fzxdoc. Will try to score a bottle of this in duty-free.
