      Pirate Scott have your ever had Hibiki? It's maybe a touch ballsier but less peaty. Very smooth still. Can't think of anything else off hand to compare it to. Let me think on it

    Have read good things about that stuff.... But right now in the blazing hot Texas summer, Shandies or Margaritas are on the menu.

      I hear that. The only time I'll put an ice cube in my whisk(e)y is if it's HOT out and I'm craving whiskey. Sometimes you just have to have a cold drink. Shandies are one of my favorite summertime beverages.

        Well, since I'm sitting here reading up on all posts, a little 'reward' is in place, methinks.

        I have some Diplomatico, single estate vintage rum. It's one of the very best I've tried.

        The glass is really solid, I like that. It has a nice heavy feel. I refer to the glass as a "J.R. Ewing" glass, if anyone remembers that old TV series "Dallas" :-)
