New to me. A Virginia Rye. Very tasty with the usual Rye sweetness I like.

Love rye. I love it when someone else notices the sweetness. Lots of 'Internet wisdom' out there "rye whiskey is spicy like rye bread" and I hate that. All whiskey is spicy and rye whiskey is usually nothing like rye bread, to me it's sweeter and milder than bourbon. I always get a 'mowing the lawn' kinda herbal taste, and sweet, and sometimes wintergreen.

Agree 100%. I love rye and to date have never had a one that tasted like rye bread or dill pickles. The one thing that I enjoy with rye is that some are more subtle and softer while others hit the palate with more intensity. My mood at the moment determines which pour I enjoy, a long hard day needs the palate hitter while a more relaxed mindset enjoys the sweeter softer dessert after dinner rye.

          Friday night pour.

NICE! Russel's Reserve is great and the Single Barrel 55% so much the better. Great stuff from a master at Wild Turkey. I'm not typically a Wild Turkey fan but RR is way different and is special

Huskee my given name is Russell. Therefore, this was obviously named after me. Just sayin'

It was a crappy work week and I'm not making any decisions tonight! I'll start early and have a nip, or two, of each one.

And speaking of glassware, this glass is from the hall (that’s what you called them in Chicago) my grandmother ran. Banquet room and small bar.

Old Granddad 114 is an exceptional bourbon. You have a great selection. Blanton's is getting harder to find and Booker's is always a winner regardless of which batch it is.
