J Henry and Sons, Patton Road Reserve, Wisconsin Straight Bourbon Whiskey. 2016 double gold medal winner. This is incredibly good bourbon. It is hard to get outside of the Midwest. Luckily it is local hooch for me.

Current cookers Weber Spirit 3 burner with a full insert griddle added. A 22" Kettle with vortex, SnS and a Smokey Joe. The most recent addition is a Pit Barrel Jr with bird hanger, 4 hooks and cover. ThermoWorks Smoke 2 probe, DOT, 2 ThermoPops and a Thermapen MK4. A Thermoworks RFX Gateway 2 probe meat thermometer.
On a whim, I procured this bottle of whiskey after enjoying his brother Clyde May’s Straight Bourbon. This one clocks in at 55%abv. I’m enjoying this with 2 cubes in a lowball glass. Mashbill is 55%corn, 30%rye and 15%barley. Upon first sip is wow, this is sweet with a lingering spicy ness. Definitely lots of apple in this one. Scary part is there’s not a lot of burn, it’s not a bad whiskey. Would buy again and recommend to try.
Distiller’s app describes it like "eating a caramel glazed apple", I totally agree.
My wife made some margaritas tonight. Fresh squeezed lime, fresh strawberries, lunazul 100% agave reposado tequila, a little triple sec, and some agave syrup. Good stuff!
