We have two weber kettle grills (one LARGE and one small/average), the SnS and the Weber Smokey Mountain 18" smoker. We use both natural lump charcoal and KNB for smoking and measure our temps with a Maverick 733, thermopen and MK4. Favorite beer depends on what is cooking (alt answer is yes).

Smoker: Lyfe Tyme Offset. Firebox 16" Diameter X 16" Long. Cooking chamber 16" Diameter X 32" Long
Grill: Lyfe Tyme 16" Diameter X 24" Long.
Thermometer: Maverick ET-732 and XR50
For smoking, I am a committed stick burner.
For grilling, it's all about charcoal. Almost always HEB brand mesquite charcoal. If not that, then Kingsford mesquite charcoal.
It's a miserable 52 deg here on the Texas Gulf Coast. I'm going to venture out later to cook a Picanha. I hope I survive.

Whichever way ya decide to go, have a great cook, brother!
Ah'ma git out, do some later, but right now it's 13°F, with 13 mph N wind, feels like is -2°F...Don't much care bout th temp, but th wind generally ain't fun...
Even with a bourbon bump, along with my coffee, I ain't feelin that dang warm, jus yet!

Yeah, it’s the wind that’s the problem. We have gusts up to 40 today. Tomorrow expecting 10mph. Much better.
