      Man that does look good.

Did a Porterhouse last night. Indirect with Hickory. Then a reverse sear. Grilled baked potato. Turned out pretty good IMO.

Here are my latest winter pictures, I was smoking a venison back strap to make Meatheads chilli. The Akron egg works good when it is cold out.

        Dedication!

For the money the Akron is a good buy, I noticed if it gets too hot it does cooloff when you open the lid. It will not last like the ceramic ones but I consider it a good starter grill. I made my own heat deflector that sits under the main grill, it is a good place to put a water pan too.
I always smoke a few sausages when ever I fire up the smoker.

Ahhhhh! it was almost 90* here today!

A buddy of mine lives in western Montana and he was at his base camp today and this is what he woke up too. I love that state.

Not sure how much cooking I will be doing outdoors this winter. I am planning on moving my smoker from the back yard to the garage, hoping for some great weather days so I can wheel it to the driveway, same with my grill table. but. I do plan on a ton of reading and working on new techniques, especially baking this winter.

I have no room in my phone booth of a garage once the cars are in there so my smoker stays out.
Snow shovel, good parka, good bourbon = good smoking

And to think it's going to be 91* with about 80% humidity here in Houston today and it's snowing in Montana !! One of those crazy times of the year !!

Kinda jealous that MI doesn't get any real snowstorms any more, Texas and California are getting more than us...also kinda happy though. It's weird, I dunno.

I didn't mind the 1-2" of predicted powder that turned into 4-6" inches, but I could danged well do without the 1.5" of slush nonsense.

Andrrr Yeah w have maybe a foot total out there. But it's usually preceded by 2" of slush that freezes, repeat repeat. Then everything is a layer of concrete. Then maybe actual snow. I miss the days of the 18-24" warnings...sigh...

I don't know how you guys exist in such conditions. I would turn blue and die of exposure if I ever left the house.

Went to New Zealand to have my first look at proper snow a few years ago, with the bride.
Had my first experience with wheel chains as well, F#%^ing bast$#d things!!!!!!
Returned to the cabin at the end of a day of unsuccessful skiing lessons, all wet, cold and muddy.
Hot shower, heated tiles, rum and an open fire, it was then I decided that while snow looks magical, it is best enjoyed from behind glass haha

I'm with you. Never trust frictionless surfaces.

Forgot I had these from 3 weeks ago. I was cooking inside. It was only 32-F, the same it was 11 years ago when it snowed last. That's my pellet grill grate on tires. Cleans a little easier with the power washer.
