Today's my first time on in a while, and I just saw this. It's hard to write, like everyone else here I'm stunned and heartbroke.
To Bonsey, I hope your journey's end will bring you joy beyond what you hoped, and the demons are finally banished. You are well and truly missed down here, but we're all better for having known ya. Thanks for being you!

I'm posting this here too. I will miss Mr. Bones.
D**n. I just read of Mr. Bone's passing. Maybe this is why I have been craving smoked and grilled foods recently. . . I remember how concerned I was when he posted the pics of his head injuries; I pm'm him, wanted to make sure he was checked out for concussion. He accepted my concerns and made me feel like it was appreciated. I enjoyed my messaging with him and considered him a friend.
Thank you, Mr. Bones, and may you always come out on top, without a bump or scratch, and have lots of smoked goods wit' appropriate libations after.

Just got the email notice and like everyone I am shocked and saddened. I don't post much as life always seems to be passing by at the speed of light and there generally isn't enough time. When I have gotten to spend some time in the Pit, I always enjoyed seeing Mr. Bones posts and comments as they made you feel so welcome. I will most certainly miss that. My sincere thoughts and prayers to his family and friends. GodSpeed Sir!

So very sorry to hear of the loss of Terrance "Mr. Bones" Morris. It’s pretty obvious he had a profound impact on this group…a group of people that share his love for all things grilling, smoking and simply the sharing of food ideas with one another. His presence will surely be missed. RIP "Mr. Bones"!

Bob Hicks, from Mormon Mecca
I'm 82 years young and going as hard as I can for as long as I can.
Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.

Retired
While I daily check in on AR and read 3 forums, this isn't one of those I scan daily. Had it not been for the latest 'Hot From The Pit', I would still not know of Mr Bones passing. Mere words can't convey the loss I feel. I think Mr Bones epitomized the Will Rogers quote "A stranger is just a friend I haven't met yet!". Mr Bones made it a point every day to meet those friends and make them feel welcome here. If his friends, new and old, will let him live in their hearts and minds, he will never be missed but will continue to bring happiness and smiles into our lives. Thank you, Mr Bones, for all that you have done for me and these boards.Last edited by dubob; March 26, 2022, 05:26 AM.

When my wife died, I had a hard time coming back to the life she left behind. A huge helping hand to pull me out of my personal pit came from Bonesy. It started in PM here with "Hey Amigo...... so, here's my phone number".
It took me a month to come to terms with Bones passing and see through the tears well enough to set some words down here for Bones to read.
Bones, you were the country doctor I needed to talk to during times an honest and candid character is just hard to find. I can never thank you enough for that and appreciated it more than I can express. You had some medicine that I needed to hear.
The members you've left behind here can't quite do the same welcoming job as well or in your particularly friendly fashion of letting newbies know how nice it is to see them, and that we all look forward to learning together and from each other. We'll do our best to fill a spot that, well, can't be filled.
I apologize for suggesting that you get The Good One. I figured that you never forgave me for that advice - you didn't post much about it.
Are you kidding? "Please don't worry I'll pester ya overmuch, especially at Roswell times of th wee wee hours lol!
" You were never anything but the definition of a polar opposite of a pester.
It's little comfort, but some, to know that God's been listenin' to some rather nice strummin' and squawkin' in person lately.
We're never going to find the Birthday Hats now...
There's so much more to say, but I hope and think you know the thoughts of joy and sadness I have in my heart that are memories of you. Certainly, no thoughts of loss - you were an unexpected gift to all of us. Anyway, I'm boring people now, and my dog wants to know why I'm crying.
Rest in Peace my dear, dear friend. And if you want to talk, "If'n I'm busy doin summat, I'll usally give ya a holler back, fairly soon."Last edited by JGo37; March 30, 2022, 12:01 AM.
