Here is a pic of the fire I need to maintain a temp of 225. Add 2 splits every 45-60 minutes and good to go.

Jon seems to look at things a little bit askew anyway, so it would have been appropriate :-)

Weber Kettle 18.5" lit up last night. I used these guys to keep the charcoal piled up in the middle, getting the heat much closer to the meat.

Well, this wasn't a cooking fire but a warming one. We went out back at first light last Sunday and I got the fire pot going. There is something about a live fire and we do enjoy the fire pot.

                  Getting it started

                  Starting to catch

                  Now its going.

                  Adding some more fuel

Now we are getting some coals.

Finally warmed up so I letting it die. That is the last fire in that pot as it is rusting out.

I will be replacing it with a Cowboy Grill. I will probably use the pot grate and everything else will just sit around.

Nice fire pic! I use the stock expanded metal diamond grid on my smoker, and the thin stock ones on my Weber.

                    I prefer thin stainless steel.
