I just got a notification from the folks at Stargazer, they are now going to produce a 12-inch pan! Great news. Stargazer makes a fine product, if you haven't had the pleasure of cooking on one, buy one. You won't regret it. The handle alone is a work of art.

I am really looking forward to getting my hands on a 12" SG!!

Functionality. It stays cooler, longer and it feels great in the hand. The smooth handle is cradled in your hand. Great for pouring or sautéing. Mudkat

Note: ya could also rest a celery stick, sausage, utensil, etc. in that oh-so-curvaceous handle groove...

Gotcha. Spinaker Mr. Bones That's one negative about the Lodge CS handle. It's rough and is at the wrong angle or something so you can't flip your food in the pan while sauteing.

I upgraded my old Emeril Lagase CI pan I never liked much to this 12” inch Finex I can now pass on with pride. Cooked a few meals so far and extremely happy with it. Spinaker thanks for the help on deciding which one to buy.

Spinaker. I think I have an issue here. I have a fully functional set of all-clad and I’m finding I’m itching to complete the set of Finex. Not good that I keep feeling this tug. Trying to ignore it.

Good luck my friend. I have all of the skillets. I am not a fan of grill pans, so I have been able to hold out on those. But I fell quick for all of the skillets. Sfdrew28

Well it ain’t a fancy Star Gazer or Finex but instead of running out and joining the Blackstone craze, I bought the Camp Chef cast iron griddle for their stove, fits my gasser like a glove. Just oiled it up and ran it through a 500* seasoning. Burgers tonight!!!!

Hey general question guys, I just got a Camp Chef frying pot with basket and am wondering if this pot is the same thickness as their other Dutch Ovens? Wondering if I can use this pot for other things with good results.

I doubt that it is the same thickness. I assume it is aluminum or Steel? You can use the pot for other things, it just won't retain heat like cast iron will.

It is listed as cast iron on their site and it is heavy...also even though it is ready to go from the box, would you season it before it first use?

Yes. If it is cast iron, I would for sure.

I love cast iron. Right now I have a BSR 10 inch skillet (my favorite daily cooker), BSR 6 inch skillet (perfect for cooking and egg or skillet cookie), Wagner 8 inch, and Lodge 12 inch.
