Bachelor meal as my wife is on a trip with her mom, Aunt and, cousin.

I wish I snapped a before pic but it was just beer brats and corn on my old SS Performer. I left some of the brats a little rare so I could use them with these red onions and peppers in a stir fry.

Cool tiki mug! And great cooks. Hope you are doing well!

        Before:
Pork shoulder, hickory smoked....not sure what happened, but my pics disappeared over in the spring edition of SUWYC. Made this chunk of meat, pulled, and froze some for later.

        After:
Ramen with pulled pork, so basically leveled up college student lunch. I found this interesting Thai ramen that is tom yum and chili flavored:

Pressure cooker, bring it to high pressure, then turn off the heat, natural release. It's an instant ramen, so this is super quick.

Throw some corn in there for a veggie, and voila:

It's actually really good. I tried with smoked pulled beef, but it wasn't as tasty. The corn's sweetness countpoints the tartness of of the tom yum. I've had this twice this week.

Here is the package...I come from a family of artists, graphic designers, and draftsmen, so I'm a sucker for cool graphics:

Oh dang, that looks good, both before and after. I haven't done drumsticks and thighs with the vortex, but now it seems so obvious. I might do that Labor Day weekend.

Protein packed lunch at work. Leftover tri-tip, cottage cheese and half an avocado with a Tajin dusting.

Some people put steak on salad, I put it in soup. I had frozen the steak when I took by DS to college, then thawed when I got back and got three meals from the leftovers.

Frozen green beans for my veggie. This is Mr. Kimchi brand of Korean ramen. Cooked in my Kuhn-Rikon analog pressure cooker, 1 minute on high pressure, quick release.

Super quick lunch, very delicious, and had this two days in a row earlier this week.

The free side all purpose chili recipe I made on Friday (posted in SUWYC). Definitely enough for leftovers!

I took the advice in the article and made chili dogs. Nothing fancy or grilled, just good ol' horseradish mustard on a plain dog and bun (or two!). Added some yellow mustard for extra mustardy goodness! Plus it looked nice.

Even got enough to have a small bowl on the side.

Did not have any more shredded cheddar, but did have some American cheese slices which I cut up and layered on the dogs and in the bowl.

                Made a nice Sunday dinner.

I would've grilled something but time was limited. My wife is going to be an usher at the OSU Stadium this year, and Sunday was their "get your credentials" and employee appreciation day. We got to sample the food from all the vendors, take a tour of the stadium, get some special deals on merch, check out the owners boxes, walk the players tunnel, watch the band do a full halftime performance (including Script Ohio), and get out on the field. They've upgrade the turf, it was very nice!

We were allowed up to three additional people, so we stopped by, and took our two OSU students with us.

Purc it's pretty impressive. I spent 10 years recording the marching band for national releases, and sometimes got free tickets from the band director, even before it was renovated, it was pretty cool. Of course, the Pink Floyd concert in '94, I had to sit behind one of the pillars. Was so mad about it. And my neck was sore...

Don't judge me too, harshly, here for my twist on franks and beans: canned baked beans and the leftover brats. Sometimes I just want a nostalgic food like this. Cheddar brats were good with this, surprisingly. Good, hearty lunch.

I'll be making baked beans from scratch sometime soon, so this will definitely happen again at some point.

Had some leftover rice and sauce, so I had this for lunch a couple days ago. I tried to drizzle the teriyaki to make it look fancy, but it was not viscous enough, so it looks a little nightmarish. Tasty, though.

This was lunch yesterday: Mr. Kimchi brand ramen with fresh broccoli and 110g of pulled beef. It was a huge amount to eat, but was intended to be my largest meal of the day as I was burning a lot of calories yesterday working around the house, etc. Clean plate club. My only complaint was that the stalks were very fibrous and I should have sliced into disks.

                Delicious.
