Crying shame, 40,000 barrels....wow.
Jim Beam is one of the very few bourbons I don't mind taking a sip of from time to time.
The barrels being ruined is the big thing, they can make more bourbon but now there'll be a shortage of barrels to put it in.

The little taphouse I have 2 blocks away gets a lot if Russian River in. Both the Elder and the Younger, Blind Pig, Supplication. It's nice to get that stuff on tap in the neighborhood.
Good for you! Russian River does beer right. Younger comes to Los Angeles only in February (as far as I know). I have waited in line at 9:30 am to drink it at 11:00 am. Have never had Supplication but heard great things.
