I'm in for sure...probably a few days early on the smoke/cook but will not post too early. A great way to honor Bones!

Well, not quite Texas or Kansas, but I'll attempt the Iberian St. Louis style ribs on the KBQ (again.) No Kettle in Seattle 😢. And this time, less heat, shorter time. And some Mississippi style slide steel guitar blues.

Well, closest to that is the Grill Grates. The Weber is down in Hood River Oregon, and we aren't there now. And, Oregon is near the edge of the planet.

My current cookers include a Shirley Fabrication 24x36 patio model; Weber Performer with the Slow-n-Sear 2.0 & Drip & Griddle; Pit Boss Series 2 propane smoker & SnS Travel Kettle.
Straight Whiskey: I'm a bourbon guy. All time favorite Pappy Van Winkle 12 year. Standard go to Blantons
Blended Whiskey: James Oliver American Whiskey
I also enjoy an occasional cigar
What a great idea! I'm in. I have some Duroc ribs in the freezer which will work nicely. If I recall Mr. Bones was also fond of beans, so I'll search his posts and do my best to make one of his beans recipes!

I think I'll get a rack of babybacks and then make some of Mr. Bones's Quickie Bourbon Beans to go with.
I've looked through all three of his topics on making them and he refines his recipe as he goes along. I think I've sussed out a good hybrid recipe to try. It's a great way to get 7 shots/2 cups of bourbon poured out in his honor while still being able to find the smoker with both BBQ mitts and actually make the rest of the dinner in the meanwhile.
Here are the links to his three topics:
A Hill of Beans I
A Hill of Beans II
A Hill of Beans III
I miss you Mr. Bones .

Great call Spin and Steve!
