I’m definitely in, but not yet booked. It’s not a real vacation unless the LW spends a couple hours juggling rate/point scenarios on her Hilton Diamond account, but I’ll be there if the Good Lord is willin’ and the creek don’t rise.

Large Big Green Egg, Weber Performer Deluxe, Weber Smokey Joe Silver, Fireboard Drive, 3 DigiQs, lots of Thermapens, and too much other stuff to mention.
Hmmm. That’s a 7 hour drive. I might be able to do that. Only limiting factor is Mrs Mosca’s birthday on the 9th. She doesn’t travel well, so if this happens it would most likely be just me. But who knows.

Tired of the road or cramped flights? Let's all get together at the Hampton Inn outdoor seating area on Friday, May 5 from 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm to wash away the long miles during Happy Hour! Outside food and beverages are allowed so let's kick this thing off in a relaxed style, make some face-to-face friends, and enjoy our favorite libations accompanied by colorful war stories. See you there!

RonB I can't say that Sam Jones BBQ in Greenville and Raleigh (about a 2 hour drive) are the same as Skylight Inn because I've never eaten at the latter. I would hazard a guess that Sam Jones wanted to do something different than his forbears rather than just put his imprimatur on what's already being served. I can tell you that Mari Jo and I were NOT impressed with the cornbread and they do not make hush puppies, which are more typically associated with eastern NC BBQ joints.

We've had so much demand for stays starting on Thursday,May 4, that the Hampton ran out of the number of allocated rooms for that date this morning. Not to worry. I've talked to the sales staff and they are adding more rooms for both Thursday and Sunday at the same low rate of $119/night. IF you attempt to book a room and enter the special event code NCM and the rate does not show $119/night, either let me know or call the hotel directly and it will be fixed.
This is a good problem to have because it shows so much interest and enthusiasm for the event. I will happy to troubleshoot any issue that is caused by excessive participation!
Good catch Panhead John . I knew we wanted you helping with this for a sound reason.

Panhead John I think you should repost an updated link to the hotel website with the phone number every time you make another post. That should keep you busy until May. 😉

Since I was just called a smart ass, I think full disclosure requires that I mention that PJ is still prohibited from being around goats, but our base location sounds like it is in a highly developed area, so we should be fine.

Jim White You’re sadly mistaken. You must be thinking about that sheep incident back in 2020. I was cleared of all charges.

I think jfmorris and Panhead John have spoken well for this event. I, personally, don't know any reason non-PC members should not be allowed to attend if they are a guest of a member.

CaptainMike - I'm not sure that will be possible. That piece resides in Austin now, and my Son is very protective of it.
