Not using a Vortex to cook those thighs.

First run on the new SnS. Ribs of course. I need to work on it a bit more to get it dialed in, but these were great. Served with a side of mustard greens.

      I can't....I can't stop myself.

(Tried it with olive oil again this time instead of butter. I don't it makes that much difference, plus I'm always afraid of butter burning. Also tried a different blackening seasoning that had a higher cayenne to paprika ratio. Wow, yes it did, yes it did. Yum.)

HouseHomey Mary’s chicken is great, it’s pretty much the only chicken I buy these days.

Crazy weather here in the Denver area. There's about two feet of snow sitting on the front porch right now but at least the wind has died down. No grills fired up right now so here's some wings from last Thursday done on my weber with the vortex.

Gorgeous. I may have to learn more about this 'Vortex' thing. I assume it can go on any Weber? Just a more uniform heat than the charcoal basket that Weber sells?

Its like half of a venturi. Foil around it on the charcoal grate. Lit coals in the middle. It sucks air up into the cooking chamber from below through the lit coals. Dr. Pepper

Yes HouseHomey always been in Lakewood, a burb on the western side of Denver.
Dr. Pepper the vortex is a simple conical piece of metal that sits in the center of your kettle and is filled with coals. The chicken is arranged around the outside perimeter of the kettle. Produces great chicken!

Shrimp & cheese grits. Spot prawns, bacon, sharp cheddar, and grits cooked in shrimp stock.
