Outstanding, we did that dish last week in the oven, always a winner.
Didn't get near the color you've gotten.
      Nice job

smokin fool -Topped with a bit of turmeric and paprika for flavor and color. Thanks-

Split up half the wood stack I hauled up to the sauna. I was lazy and used the log splitter. However, we made some killer Chili Con Carne tacos. Basically, the chili was so thick that we decided to make tacos out of it. Man is that stuff good!

      Perfecamundo!

Tuesday I couldn't even make a sandwich, as we were out of bread, so I set about to remedy the situation, and mixed up some no-knead bread dough that sat overnight, and yesterday I baked a loaf in my trusty Lodge 5 quart dutch oven...

Also first time to test out my new Victorinox bread slicer. Worked much better than the other serrated knives I've used in the past!

Thanks Caffeine88 - looks a repeat of this with tomato soup may be tonight's dinner. The wife has been off all day with her mom, who at 83 is getting remarried tomorrow. She just texted to say she was going to dinner with her mom, and she will see me after while, so its just me and the dogs... . Beer and grilled cheese it is!

Well one more. Mussels in garlic sauce and butter over angel hair. Parmesan cheese and to heat it up a bit, Four Peppers Blend from FlatIron.

Click Akaushi ribeye I got on sale with my last order a couple months ago. This was $20 for a 20 oz steak. Cooked over mostly all wood, just a little charcoal to get it started, on the performer. This was a fantastic steak and cheaper than choice at my grocery store.

I restocked on orange roughy today. I like this, simple but good flavors. Orange Roughy is a really good fish!

My wife saw some FB thing about sauerkraut cabbage and kielbasa soup. I couldn't find a recipe so just threw some stuff together.

1 yellow onion, prepped it with 1 stick of butter like I was gonna make French onion.

An hour later I threw 1 kielbasa in until browned.

1 jug of chicken stock, and then rinsed the jug with hot water and used that too.

4 peeled russet and 1 whole head of cabbage

2 bay leaves, a bunch of garlic, white pepper, smoked paprika and boiled for like 5 minutes. Then I rinsed 2 cups of kraut and added that. I was out of cornstarch so used about 2 tbsp of baking powder to thicken it a touch.

Simmered a few hours, then browned up another kielbasa and added it with some chives, dill, and parsley and salted to taste.

Only thing I would change is I would reserve half the cabbage to add before serving.
