Now I don't feel so mad about losing 4 of 6 new Neon Tetra's I bought the other day.

Neon tetras can be fragile in a new tank. I've got a soft spot in my heart for cardinal tetras because their color goes the length of their bodies, unlike the neon tetras. Both are beauties, though.

fzxdoc This isn't a new tank and the other 5 neon's are doing pretty good, along with the pepper and albino cats. The usual guy who takes care of the aquariums at the local Petco is out until after the holidays, and I suspect they had just gotten these neon's in the day before but still sold them. Naturally, being so small, we didn't see all the dead guys at the same time, otherwise I would have kept them and returned them. Still ticks me off though. I'll have to look at the cardinals.

When CreekstoneFarms has their sales I like to stock up, as many of us do with our favorite meats. They recently (and currently with some items) had a sale on full fresh rib loins, and I like these to make prime ribs and steaks.

Mine was delivered this past Wednesday. I like to wet age mine for a month or two before portioning and freezing, but my spare meat & beer fridge has been acting up and not cooling below 43-45F lately, despite defrosting it and cleaning the back coils, so it's fine for beer but not meat.

It's been 20s to upper 30s outside day & night so I put the box, still sealed up, in the back of my truck until my wife could take it to her mom's to put in her spare fridge. I forgot it was in there.

Do you see where this is going? Well, you're wrong, ha! Keep reading.

We do not have trash pickup at our place, we are literally on the wrong side of our road for trash pickup to be included so we have to take our trash to the "transfer facility" (a.k.a. dump). The dump guys are nice and usually help you unload all your trash, sometimes do it all for you.

My wife loaded up the trash in my truck and took it there while I was sleeping days for work. She wasn't thinking clearly and assumed (there's that word, "assume", which will hurt you every time) that the CreekstoneFarms box was the one from last week with nothing but freezer packs we don't need.

Now do you see where this is going? Well, now you're right!

The dump guys tossed my unopened 12-14lb Prime rib loin into the dumpster. Never to be seen again.

This happened Saturday. My wife realized this at 5am yesterday morning and texted me about it. I was at work, it was 5pm to me, but it woke her up from sleep when she realized it. She feels bad and I don't have the heart to be mad at her about it from how bad she feels. To be honest I had forgotten about it too, I thought she had already taken it to her mom's fridge. I'd be a hypocrite if I got mad at her for forgetting it too.

A dozen ribeyes, or a couple prime ribs and some steaks, whatever... $245 of Prime beef, gone.

that is a sad story , chalk it up to a oops ! on her part , live & learn & move on , p.s merry christmas !
